I know.It used to afl terms to describe players that aren’t lazy at such but seem at times to not have urgency in the way they move around the ground.
I think you might be imagining it being in common use like that. If it was so the dictionary definition would be updated. It's just a dumb footy term.Gees, I don’t have time to search through all my fiction novels.

- Campbell is perhaps the most damaging player in the draft not just for his lethal left boot which eh can easily kick 50 with but his ability to hit the scoreboard from the midfield aswell, Campbell has excelled at every role given to him and if he can be a consistent 20+ disposals a game player he certainly would belong in the conversation for pick 1

Defensive running
- Gulden knows how to find the footy and generally makes the right choices, his point of difference his his ability forward of centre and he has a lot of confidence which will hold him at good stead. Runs hard forward but could run a bit harder defensively to really round out his game.

- Rossmann is a classy mover up forward, a difficult matchup for a small defender with his lead up marking. A creative left footer who makes good decisions he will need more fo the ball to have a greater impact.

- Sheather plays an old school style, likes the physicality of the game and will use it i the to win the ball or tackle the person hard with it. His marking ability is impressive along with his strength and despite having good versatility I’d like to see him play a more permanent role as a forward as his marking ability, tackling and set sot kicking ticking a lot of boxes as a forward.

- A player I’m yet to see but is rated for his athleticism and reading the play, looks a good size aswell so is one ill be looking for if any games get played this year.
I wouldn’t say he excels at it but he doesn’t have to either as his weapons are his kicking and ability to go forward, he can win his own ball and he does tackle with intent so he is hardly just an outside type. Has good balance as I put in his strengthsIs Campbell any good at contestant game?

Been discussed before and use a bit:
Random - "Laconic"
Hello all, my first post in the lounge. Since we seem to have some language buffs around our board I thought I would ask about our use of the word "Laconic". I have always been taken to believe that the word meant laid-back, almost disinterested, easy going etc. Often used to describe...www.bigfooty.com
Laconic Jared Brennan on a mission to deliver for Gold Coast - AFL Cairns - GameDay

Seems to be solely in AFL having the lazy/disinterest meaning.
Similar to Lachie Neale imo, not too sure if you'd say he isn't elite.Oliver Davis (AH)

- Davis is the type of player coaches and teammates love, he does the hard stuff and runs all day and just watching the way he plays you see its no surprise he was named Tasmania’s captain as a bottom ager, What keeps Davis away form my top 20 is his scope to be more than the type of player he is now which is a solid AFL midfielder but not a potential elite midfielder of the competition.
Better athlete, yes. Similar level of kick I'd say, with a very 'get it in the general area' approach rather than spotting up targets but Neale has a further boot. Interesting how you see it either way.Neale is a better athlete and was even more prolific compared to Davis, better kick aswell

If the draft is shortened (say 2 rounds) do see Davis' sort (vanilla for lack of a better term) being the kind missing out?
Found this photo on WP page Logan is cousin to Luke Foley at the Eagles.Have you seen much of Logan Foley? Plays for west perth colts key forward
