A few potential options late in the draft from the metro clubs. Players like Liam McMahon and Ollie Lord could be nice options so perhaps going a key forward isn’t exactly a necessity at that first pick, plenty of good young key defenders to look at which pies also need more of.
Hopefully the recruiters decide to finally draft one, even a later round one. We'd be already getting a mid in Reef and next year another mid in Daicos, Got plenty of half back players.
Another key defender would be on the list as well.

Do you want to tell them or should I?
The best part is they seem to think that the club will simply match any offer for crouch, outside of band 1 compo range of course, thus sending bidding clubs into a contract bidding frenzy assuring them of their band 1 compo......lol

I could imagine how awkward that conversation would be between list managers.

Yeah, especially if pies fall off a cliff this year lol Even pick 18 would come before a bid for reef, especially with all the NGA/FS that could come beforehand, he could be bumped down.
Been a couple years since we even had a first round pick. Not since Jaidyn.
Are you losing another grand final.

You watch us recruit a key back and turn him into a forward... Again 😂

They should be optimistic that the league doesn't seem to be calling them about tanking but that's another discussion
If we keep playing McKay and Hartigan and possibly dare I say Gibbs this week then that phone call won’t be far away.

We have very similar phantoms, makes sense since I've got 0 critical thinking skills

With Powell, what were your concerns before this for having him push first round?
Most people have similar players at the top end which is the case most years, after awhile it gets pretty easy to tell which players will go high early on but with no footy in Victoria at the moment I doubt those players can change much from what people had at the start of the year.

Still unsure if he ends up going that high but pure weight of numbers and consistency is hard to ignore, his issues can be worked on and he is a better athlete than Harry Schoenberg who is a similar player who went in the 20s.

Love your work eDPS.

I just want to say, there’s next to no chance Brisbane will bid on Cody Brand. It goes against everything Conole has said about about us bidding on opposition clubs kids.

Also, if we keep both picks, it almost certain we draft a ruck or forward ruck with our second pick. Hope there’s one around the mark.

Can you be so sure he won’t make an exception for Dodoro, not like he has had an Essendon player to bid on lately haha

Pretty sure.

Conole has talked a fair bit about the clubs philosophy about bidding on players. Only if we really rate abs want the player, and we won’t do it just to play games.

Plus we don’t need another defender.

But keep putting him there for the laughs.

I am very happy with the selection of Trew for Adelaide. He is the exact type of player that we currently have the greatest need for. My only concern is whether Edwards will address this need for us as a big bodied, clearance specialist. Edwards will come bit cheaper but will obviously not be as high quality. I wouldn't want to run the risk of having to many slow inside specialists in the one midfield. Do you think that the two are too similar? and how would you compare them as midfielders? Typically clubs pick the best available talent early and address list balance with later picks but in this case we are (probably) already locked in to Edwards with a later pick so I wonder if we would look at a more balanced midfielder like O'Driscoll on Bruhn at that pick if they are available. Do you think that access to F/S or NGA players later in a draft - or a high quality one the next year - effects what a club does with earlier picks or do they still pick the best available?

Is this why you have a heap of WA players moving up your boards? More exposure to those players, hence they look like shiny new toys?
