From memory he went over to WA to help there didn't he?This guy is / was the best at talent identification.
Old Shifter always has 20 guys that he would call a top ten prospect and 35 guys that were potential first rounders, of which three would be from the Allies.
Shifter should have been in the Diplomatic Corps.
Michael Ablett was good at pointing both the strengths and weaknesses.

Sounds like Hamish is every chance to bid on Jamarra.
I remember listening to the Lystics AFL podcast at the end of last year. And they were looking ahead to the top 25 prospects in the 2020 draft. And from memory John Had Jamarra at either 3 or 4. Is either one of you able to explain to me how he’s gone from being a potential top 5 pick to being the outright best player in the draft without even playing a game this year? It makes no sense to me other than media hyping him up to be the next Buddy and writing a few articles on him. Can you explain why he’s now apparently the #1 now?Yep, JUH will be either #1 or #2.
The guys doing that podcast are amateurs like the rest of us. They see less of the prospects than the serious watchers here, let alone professionals.I remember listening to the Lystics AFL podcast at the end of last year. Jamarra has been a standout number one pick for at least 18 months. Certainly from September last year. Of course people are going to prefer others over him such as McDonald, Thilthorpe, Hollands, Phillips even etc. but there's no way I would have said he was third or fourth last year. At worst he was level with some of the above names, but since his 16s days he's been touted as a top pick.I remember listening to the Lystics AFL podcast at the end of last year. More than likely Cat B Rookie as they can be contracted for 3 years unlike Cat A rookies where its usually a 1 year contract, Egg was drafted in 2017 and has had 3 years at Richmond and was not upgraded to senior list. There would also be no reason for Richmond to upgrade him to the cat A list as that would just take away a list spot. Cat B are also completely outside the cap from what i remember. Are you guys able to definitively tell me how many spots Richmond have available this year on their primary list. I believe it's 4. The conjecture is whether or not Eggmolesse-smith was a cat A or B rookie when delisted.
| Richmond | 38 players | 5 (+1 cat B) |
Hi Ed, what happens if a GC academy or NT kid that is not prelisted is bid on by another team, can the Suns match and demote another player to the rookie list
if Gold Coast have not pre listed them for free, then i doubt they want said player, if he is not prelisted, he is not aligned.Hi Ed, what happens if a GC academy or NT kid that is not prelisted is bid on by another team, can the Suns match and demote another player to the rookie list
I’m not sure on the rule as the whole situation is very rare to begin with, they might keep the rights but they wont match a bid on a player they could have gotten for free, doesn’t make much sense.Hi Ed, what happens if a GC academy or NT kid that is not prelisted is bid on by another team, can the Suns match and demote another player to the rookie list
Are you able to help me with my Richmond list question?I’m not sure on the rule as the whole situation is very rare to begin with, they might keep the rights but they wont match a bid on a player they could have gotten for free, doesn’t make much sense.
So then we have 5 spots (senior /cat A rookie)?More than likely Cat B Rookie as they can be contracted for 3 years unlike Cat A rookies where its usually a 1 year contract, Egg was drafted in 2017 and has had 3 years at Richmond and was not upgraded to senior list. 2020 richmond list breakup
Think they have an excess of small forwards and mids so Pescud , Gore and Lake may be sneaky late or rookie chances for other side's. Think Lake will certainly get a bid around 50I’m not sure on the rule as the whole situation is very rare to begin with, they might keep the rights but they wont match a bid on a player they could have gotten for free, doesn’t make much sense.
I’ve had him in the late 20s for months now, he likely gets taken beforehand but I have my own queries on him that he didn’t get the chance to address this year. It’s a very even crop this year and this years draft should have more bolters and sliders compared to any other yeareDPS .... always find it interesting to see some names come with a rush and others seem to passed or drop off ...
Macrae ... is the any particular reason you feel he has drifted to late 20''s..? .. or is just that type of year where so many are even that so many players in the 10-30 range can move around based on club needs and likes?
In about 8 years maybe.Does anyone see Poulter becoming more of an inside leaning mid at AFL level?
I don't think you can move a player from the main list to Cat B. I think it has to be Cat A, and has been for any other clubs. So then we have 5 spots (senior /cat A rookie)?
I wasn't suggesting that. That's not what we were talking about.I don't think you can move a player from the main list to Cat B. I think it has to be Cat A, and has been for any other clubs.
I hope if Adelaide draft him they develop him more on the outside as that player that plays the roaming role through half back/wing/half forward perhaps in an Isaac SmithSome clubs see that in the future, he would need to bulk up for sure but he would be capable of the role.
