It's either Steven Febey or Darren Pritchard.
And I don't know if either broke their legs, but I can't think of another 1986 draftee to play 200 for one club.
Given Clue 2, I am going for Darren Pritchard, as Melbourne had crap forwards in Febey's time. Pritchard had a few to kick to.

3. The player who's position I took over was not yet a champion when he left to go interstate,but he soon was at his new club and at his third:cool:
 
Both are Brownlow medalists.
