makes u wonder how we made the Pre-lim final that year with those goal scorer tallys. Good team we had though......missed GF by a bee's d---k!

By the same token, to have so many blokes kicking 20+ was also an impressive effort.

yer your rite there longy.
Would be nice to get 25 goals each out of Monfries,Lovett and 3 or 4 others next year on top of Lloydys 70 or 80 ( lets hope)

There were a lot of reason we were so good in 2000, but one of the major ones was because of the spread of goal kickers we had.

Not only did we have Lloyd kick over 100 and Lucas kick over 50, but we had Hird, Caracella and Mercuri over 30 and Blumfield, Alessio, Moorcroft over 20.

8 blokes averaging over a goal a game and several others (Bewick, Long, JJ, Rama, Joey) not far behind.

Even Fletch kicked 14 goals in 2000. That would have had him 5th this year, it had him equal 10th in 2000.

Which Essendon player ended Tim Watson`s career ?

haha very tricky WH. you got my brain ticking here. Was it due to a player falling on his leg at pre-season 94'?

I am wrong.Watson played his last game in 1994,rd 16 at Windy hill. It was against Fitzroy and we won by 10 goals. What happened to timmy on that faithful day?....anyone?

It was at The G and a teammate played a big part in it.

ooops......sorry WH.My book just says home game.MCG it is.

I rekon it was Dean Wallis who ran thru Timmy and cracked a colarbone:(

Hamstring, all down to a mis-directed Alessio handball. Watson runs by, calls for the pill and bloody alessio handballs behind him, Watson stretches, twaaaanngggg.

yep,u wonder why he even contemplated going on in 94'. Should have taken the 93'GF win and said "that will do me!

Got any more WH?

He ended 1993 on 298 games, that and with such a young side, the motivation for back to back and 300 games must have been pretty hard to say no to.

Does anyone know the words to the song we tried to bring out a few years ago , it was about `81-`82. It was Barry Capuanao`s baby......

I don't remember that, but I do remember the one Simon Madden had out for the 1990 GF.

We're all part of Sheedy's Army....

Unravel this EFC players name.

jaiil crggi....corect spelling needed to claim victory

heres a story about Grgic, don't know if it true.

On a train back from a game at the Gabba years ago and sat next to a Essendon old coot who said he lived down the rd from WH and used to house recruits for the club. He said, that a Croation club promised to join all 2000 or 3000 members up at EFC if they sighned Grgic. He swore it was true but I don't know!.....Longly? The Grgic story please.

We`re the boys from Essendon
We wear the red and black
We`re famous for our courage
we`ll never turn our back
We`ll be there in september
in the premiership we`ll play
`cause we`re called the Bombers
the greatest team of all.

I wonder why that never took off ?

2003 h&a season.

Name the rd,the team we played and venue, without going straight to the record books like busy little beavers.

Try and guess by memory.

Hird kicked no goals but had 24 kicks.

Goal kickers included Bolton,Rama,Jacobs and Lloyd kicked 5.

We had a narrow win mainly due to Pev shutting down a super star.

Hird was outstanding.

umm i think it was rd 16 against brissy at the dome, dont know about the goal kickers but im pretty sure hird was awsome and it was the first time we had beaten them in a while.

Correct:thumbsu: ..........smart @rse............;)

Unless u have the tape of the game, this is a question that has to answered by memory.

Which Carlton player stood on the mark when Neale Daniher kicked that famous winning goal in time-on at Princes Park in 1985 or when ever it was?

That big torp sailing into the Carlton mob?
