Hey it goes both ways, the amount of players I've seen come to Subi and suddenly find their radar is incredible. Taylor Walker couldn't miss against us. Hurley last week. I know Hurley is a decent kick but he's hardly been a dead eye dick this year. Saturday night? Couldn't miss!
You're not wrong there, he was bound to do it against someone though.

Eventually one of the bottom 6 - 8 players in an opposition side is going to play a good game. 6 - 8 players, 22 rounds, that's 132 - 176 opportunities for a spud to turn it on against us every season so it's only fair to think 3 or 4 will do so.

And it isn't just us, it happens against every club.

Now if said spud does it repeatedly against us then that's another story.
Good to see someone using a bit of common sense on the subject.

So people constantly losing their shit in game day threads over spuds only turning up against us is just a piss take?

Kelvins thread last year was a piss take? All the people debating with me in that thread were just taking the piss?

Sorry but I don't buy that story.

What do you think people believe? That some power causes hacks to shine against us? Or that they always happen to light it up for us because of who we are? Does it matter?

Bottom line, are you just sick of the whining?

What is the issue here?!

Are 'subscribers to the myth' simply believing that all players (hacks and champs) HATE EFC and want to play well against us to make sure we lose? If that is the case, do you disagree?

What is the fuss about?

Alot of teams have said they love getting up against the Bombers and it makes sense that this drives some of the inconsistent performers around to have better than usual games.

Wasn't that Paul Salmon he was referring to? Pretty sure it was. Goal umpire didn't move an inch.

Thornton is the lassic example.. how that sh*t truck can constantly come from the 2's into the ones and take contested marks and kick goals on us is unfathomable.
Thornton?

Played probably the game of his career against us in the EF last year, but otherwise he's usually been good for 2 or 3 goals in our favour.

I think Carlton realised having him in defence made it far too easy for us.

We can play teams into form too of course. Melbourne have looked much better since we gifted them a win with bad kicking. Also we allowed Collingwood a break through GF win in 1990 and Carlton couldn't win a final until they played us. They went over to Perth after that and looked very good in the tight loss.

We were actually derailing teams for a while there last year. Richmond losing to Port after playing us the first time, and then GC the second t ime.

I replied to a post that was factually incorrect. Am I not entitled to do so?

Brad Green? Quite a good player in his day and turned it on against all teams.
I think I was more remembering last year's game.

It was probably, by some margin, the best game he played for the year.

As you say, perhaps an unfair nomination because he wasn't a 'spud', so to speak, in his good years.
