Who follows the EFL on this forum and what are your predictions for the coming season?
Obviously Vermont will be the ones to beat but then I think the competition is a little bit closer than people think.

My predictions are:

Vermont
East Ringwood
Donvale
Noble Park

East Burwood
Lilydale
Croydon
Ringwood
Blackburn
Mitcham

east, you have mitcham to go down, what are your reasons there there? i agree with top 4 but think croydon and lillydale could surprise

Just think losing Lucas Murphy and Coghlan they will really struggle. Were not that good last year and the loss of some key players will see them struggle. It could of been one of three clubs on the bottom as I feel there is a fair gap between them and the top 7

i hear ya, losing those players and the rest i too think they will struggle. dont know much about blackburn and ringwood. yeah, mitcham are going to do well to avoid the drop. has the big four thrown the money around again, and if so who have they picked up?

i think vermont are the team to beat again and i think young up and coming ruckman grattan stephens holds the key, he needs to stand up and make a statement this year and by all reports i can gather hes flying during the pre season, pretty mobile type, lacks body strength but has good skills and mobility

Lilydale and Croydon i think can both push for top 4 with even luck.

Will be a big loss for East Ringwood this season, as he has matured into a very good ruckman during his time at the Roos. Had a couple of BOG's in winning sides last year, and uses his basketball background to his advantage in ruck contests.

Does anyone know how Chris Bardon (Vermont) and Tyson Collins (Mitcham) went last year. I hear Tyson has gone overseas?

Kris Bardon played whole year in ones, was ok, but ripped it up in the gf and took out bog. collins is overseas, think he won their bf, just one of about 12 that mitcham have lost, confirming east33 prediction

BJ good player around the ground and is a big loss for ER.

They have picked up a couple of ruckman to cover the loss.

Not sure why people are talking up Lilydale and Croydon, have not picked up much from what I have heard. Croydon were the suprise packet last season but I think would need to pick up a some more quality to make the four.

Mitcham will not finish last. All though losing our best players (Pimm, Murphy and to a lesser degree Coughlan but he wasnt that great last year) We have picked up a couple of handy players. Middle to lower range of the ladder I would think we will slot into. Ringwood will have trouble in their first year back up, the gap between division 1 and 2 is still pretty big I reckon

East33, how did East Ringwood go yesterday against Strathmore?

Apparently East Burwood defeated De La Salle 13.19-97 to 10.11-71

& if anyone else has any practice macth results can they post them.

Doncaster had a comfortable win over Cheltenham.
Good sign with so many new players never having played together before.
Doubt many sides will have the height of the Sharks this year in Div 2.
Hoping for a dry winter.

Tougher test next week against Mooroopna.

east ringwood beat strathmore by a goal. dont know if srathmore were at full strength. east rignwood rolled them all out. great result for east ringwood. does this throw a spanner in the works for all those who think strathmore is the best local side going round.

Believe that Strathmore were at full strength. Quinn an ex-sandover medalist played in the ruck for strathmore.

Paul Ferguson from belgrave is playing at East Ringwood and has started alright. At 31 a mature age recruit but should go okay!!

With East Burwood losing all of their richmond recruits, they have brought in yze's brother and some others. vermont having lost kris barlow to foster is a huge loss, as he still had the spark and of course smith to the basin...

should be a pretty even comp this year!!

Noble Park has lost Sangster, Nagle,Finlayson, Quinn and 7or 8 2s players who have gone to Springy District. Apparantly they have picked up a couple of handy midfielders and a ruckman from Box Hill. I think they may struggle with only the one ruckman unlike previouse year when they had the luxury of 2 or 3 ruckmen.

yikes, are you sure about nagle and quinn? gieschan for east rignwood has been refused clearance from the wafl, apprently he signed a 2 year contract at wafl club and left them with one year remaining. vermont beat mt eliza with only 7 senior players, they are still the one. with dinnen back and firing they will be awesome.
