Yeah Im strength based.

Only put the required points so I can use some incarnations and then the rest I’ll put into rest into strength and Vigor like you said

In Souls games I start off spreading evenly, then hammer most of it into one/two categories usually strength/health. I thought I was higher (clearly lost track), but I only just tipped over to level 70 last night.

Mostly Vit, Stength, Dex, Mind and Arcane. I put a few in faith and INT but have mostly ignored them and endurance.

I like to brute force my way through.

where is best to go after Rennala?

i have the dude at the hold telling me to go to some city, i have a fingered crone telling me to go to volcano manor, and i guess i could go to caelid as well?

i have gotten up onto the altus plateu as well as explored a fair chunk of the volcano region. but all the enemies have had a big jump in strength compared to liurnia of the lakes from what i can see

nah don't buy armour or a weapon, the uchi will serve you well for quite some time and armour does sh*t all in this game.

go on the hunt for grave sites - heaps of runes lying around all of them.

One thing that made the game way easier for me was leveling up summons. the dogs will help heaps with bosses.
Cheers for that mate,
Just searched how to upgrade summons... And realised i've walked past the girl on the floor like 20 times and must not have noticed her :tearsofjoy:

What lvl are you? i went to Caelid then Altus Plateau/MT gelmir.

Ended up finishing the game today. Started off with a strength build and using colossal weapons but quickly realised that wasn't going to get me to the end against certain bosses. Did a respec and invested heavily in intelligence and then steamrolled through the game.
Fantastic game though and already feel like doing a new game.

Third time lucky tonight (and 7th time overall).

Like the look of the game but I don’t think I try it as games that are to hard give me the shits and I lose interest if I just keep dying and the fun seems to be taken out of it.

I did a Google search if you could change difficulty settings and just got this….

“ Elden Ring only has one difficulty setting and is brutally hard “……

It really isn't that hard, I'm not an elite gamer by any means and I have points where I'm challenged but overcome everything through practice and trying new strats.

You can also easily farm level ups to make the game easier.

If I find myself dying too much in one area I mark it on the map and explore somewhere else, which is the beauty of the open world.

From one noob to another, try it. I'd almost guarantee you'll like it.
Anything too big or too hard just simply ride away/around.
Explore, collect stuff, level up till you're more confident.

For games this hard I am googling cheat codes from the start and easy level up options etc! I don’t care if others find this silly but I always do it to get a head start! 🤣👌

Haha that's what I do at work half the time :tearsofjoy:
Look up tips and guides and it'll make life a heap easier.

I always go for best weapons I can get early in the game / easy money early or whatever gives me a decent start! I love game cheats! 🤣

i dont like looking things up and spoiling games, but feel i kind of have to quest wise with this. you miss the tiniest thing and cant continue a quest, its a huge world as well which makes things so easy to miss.

too obtuse/convoluted
I usually give a hard fight 2 goes in any game and then I am watching a YouTube tutorial on how to win! 🤣👌

You'll do fine then as most bosses have a way to cheese them if you get stuck.

The best thing about Elden ring is you can just charge in on your horse and grab loot in much higher areas. If you die, you get it forever so you can buff your flasks / add charges which will make a huge difference.

I want to get the pc version just so I can use Cheat Engine and put myself to the maximum level, so I can 1 shot every boss from the start 😝 - watched a YouTube video of someone at level 753 do this last night.... it was epic!!

EDIT Officially in double dip territory

PC Version purchased :P

I’d probably do this too if I could transfer my save from PS5. Can’t wait for that tech, it’d make developers more cash.
