Tapping the fridge/heater/taps/door handles pretty hard first tends to help because the sensation from hitting your knuckle often negates/hides the feeling of the shock.
Sounds dumb and you look like a knob, but it definitely lessens the shocks.

i do that and I do look like a knob but the shocks really annoy me

Also, I once got a shock putting a 20 cent piece into a coke machine and got a blue flame/bolt from the machine to the 20 cent piece (about 5mm long). anyone seen anything like this?

Every single time I open my car door...

Not a great thing when you're a pizza delivery kid that makes 10-12 deliveries in a few hours.

After you get out/before you get in the car touch your car key on the car, the key and the car will cop most/all of the zap. I do this every day  I have a plastic ended key and I just touch the metal part with the edge of my thumb then tap the key on the cars exterior and 95% of the time I hear the static crack.

You Know what we should do?

Live in a house made entirelly out of laquered Sequoia Tree, which is ageless and never rots, and live way out in the Himalyan mountains, or somwere as far away from the choking cesspool of the city.
