Elijah is short, this is true, though the pic above isn't a true rep as he's in the background there, which has way over accentuated things,

Rarely do you see Boomer or Blair or Cyril compromised on the field for their lack of height, just occasionally maybe, but their positives dwarf ( sorry) the negatives.

But he is very slight, he be pushing to be 57-60 kgs, but that should fix as his bodymatures and he hits the gym a lot more.

He's super quick, super agile and is tenacious as all hell, so I'm staying very bullish on the kid.

And walking next to 195 cm Ben Richmond wouldn't help too much either ;)

----

Folks questioned whether Jarryd Blair was too short. There was speculation that the Morrish medal winner slid into the rookie draft purely because of his lack if height. And Jarryd Blair is 174cm.

If folks suggesting Elijah Edwards is 160cm are correct, then he either needs to have superhuman talent, or a superhuman growth spurt

Perhaps it's time for us to go for a mosquito fleet.

Small, fast with fantastic skills may be better than having 18 gorillas on the field?

I was not all that impressed with his kicking in the video. I know hes young with plenty of time to improve......but his ball drop seemed to be woeful. Hopefully he has been sharpening up on this. Most indigenous players have a beatiful ball drop/action (Leon, Lewis Jetta, cyril etc)

Well that's just super exciting (sorry had to, seems your channelling shifter sheehan swoop:p:D ).

Time will tell, just let him develop you just never know he might have a growth spurt, bucks did, in his book he mentioned he grew 9 inches in one year (something like that) - for those old enough, remember Paul Callery? was 165 cm & 68 kg and had a good VFL career 186 games.... time will tell.

He is tiny! Significantly shorter than Blair and doesn't look the build that will muscle up. There is no way he could play at that size.

Same here Swoop I am also not jumping off his Bandwagon.

Still want to see him Play 1st before I have thoughts on Edwards

Anyway, no need to jump to conclusions just yet. He is still a fair way off and is a worthwhile experiment. I don't think we need to rule him out purely based on his height. With his speed, he might actually prove impossible to catch.

Time will tell. I continue to applaud the club for looking outside the square with recruitment.

Is he much smaller (mass and height) than Brad Dick was? I remember thinking Dicky was a scrawny little dude when he debuted for us.

He truly is ridiculously tiny. I don't understand why the club is interested in him because he surely is going to find AFL to be a task too difficult to contemplate.

Brad Dick is listed at 1.81 m, so is significantly taller. He weighs 81 kg according to Wikipedia.
