Not sure that domestic violence falls on the political spectrum.
Kind of does
Left believe only men are abusers
Centre know it isn't black and white, and that both men and women can be abused, and can both be abusers
Right believe women always do something to deserve it...

There's a lot of very broad and completely incorrect statements in that post.
So you disagree that it isn't black and white?
Hey did you come to that conclusion from that response?

Glad he is gone. It is what should happen to anyone caught as the attacker in domestic violence incidents.

Agreed. I understand there are always some careful considerations to be made, but when it's got to this point - he has pleaded guilty - I think it's the right thing to do.

Not surprised they cut him - wonder if this will set the new standard for domestic violence/assaults on women?

Will be more of a test when the player’s ability outweighs the moral outrage though...

Over to you Collingwood...🧐

Sydney Swans: “Elijah has made some very poor decisions which have led us to this point, and he acknowledges that. This is certainly not a position we have arrived at lightly, however Elijah’s actions could not be reconciled."

Are you thick? How does him pleading guilty now change ANYTHING about what was said 2 weeks ago before we knew the facts?
Since when do facts matter? Wasn't too long ago you were demanding Laidley be shot out of a cannon because he was an international drug lord...

He had to go given his repeated issues and seeming lack of self control. Likely would have kept happening into the future.

Remarkably the Swans big footy board closed the Elijah thread

He's a dead-s**t for hitting her, particularly with a belt... But... Feel kind of bad for both of them after hearing the facts.

The dude went over there to comfort her after she reached out for help following her (?their?) miscarriage. They go to sleep. Then he is woken by her raining punches on his face accusing him of infidelity; like an idiot he swings back, and then keeps swinging, but still not like he went over there with any ill-intent.

The West Australian headline is pretty misleading at first glance.

The Perth Magistrates Court heard on Wednesday that Taylor woke up to her hitting him after she saw a Snapchat message.
...
“He was not the person who started the aggressive behaviour,” Mr Rafferty said.

Hmmm.

If the roles were reversed and he found a msg on her Snapchat and started being aggressive, only for her to smack him with a belt and punch, would anything have come of it from her end?

The guy is clearly a piece of work but she doesn’t sound much better. The fact she attacked him first is probably the reason he has avoided jail time and got himself a spent conviction, but how does she get off without any heat on her? Domestic violence both ways is appalling.
