I was pointing out that Eddie should have calmed down before shooting his gob off like he did because you might have had Didak and Shaw palying for you, coming into this game as a strong team with them in it.

Okay we all agree our ruck combo is better with wood in. bryan is out of form, and wood is a SA boy. Daisy comes straight back in, and i think dawes needs a break, we should play a smaller forward line with their quick and skillful backman. with bock on cloke that leaves rutten without an opponent. Burns back in for mccarthy, who also needs a break as he is only a young kid.

other possible changes.. johnson in for cook?

i like cook but maybe johnos experience can boost our already young team. and isnt it nice to have this as a challenging task. shows our depth is starting to grow. imagine if we could bring in rocca, shaw, didak, rusling and even reid!!

You would drop McCarthy before Stanley and Cook? Why?

And Dawes has really helped Cloke find some form. I'd keep him in the side.

Id have the same changes, except for reid and dawes, dawes had a shocker but reid has played barely 1 vfl game (in the back half) for almost 6 weeks.

I would say cook out instead of stanners but it might leaves light on runners, so no real preference there

put simply, Cook is quicker and more skillfull than mccarthy, and stanely is harder and tougher. you tell me what mccarthy has done to deserve a finals birth? as for dawes, well when last did he take a mark and stand up tall? he's going to be a great young kid but on a big subiaco he should of done more. i am still worried about Jogn 'call me jack' anothiny but he has a funny nack to kick three goals from his four touches. so that will do for now.

also.. whats this about pendles being injured at training? thats a worry

I've personally had him in our best half-dozen 3 out of the last 4 matches. His defensive pressure, his inside work, and his disposal has all been top-notch (barring the Freo match obviously).

mdc.. maybe im a harsher critic. i found his performance against freo just terrible. he fell over every time he went near the ball, and was worked out of position easily by his opponent, he just looked out of his depth in front of a hostile away crowd. which is what we face this week. for mine cook is a much more settled player, and stanners is a tough nut that will thrive on this type of game.

I would love to see Macaffer and/or Barham get a start in the finals, would just be fantastic for team morale. Collingwood always lifts when we have first gamers playing.

Burns in if fit. Pendles injury is a concern. Stanley only out as we played him in a similar role to the role Daisy plays. Would have loved to have seen him have a crack in the middle.

My reasoning? We don't need a taller forward line for the Crows, as they'll try to clog up our forward line. We're better to provide more hard-running clearance players to help us get first bite and to try and take a couple of Crows out of the game.

Cook to run hard with Scott Thompson
Iles to run hard with Andrew McLeod

Burns and MacCarthy to get in and under and to foil Goodwin/Edwards

Wood to help Josh with his tap ruck

Hopefully we can release Medders back to the forward line to do what he does oh-so-well and allow Magic, Daisy to provide some explosive speed into big Jack / big Trav or to link up with Pendles and Cox.

He did lose his feet a couple of times, but that was unusual for him, and I still think he showed a bit. I like Stanley as well, and prefer he stayed in too.

Can't agree on Cook though. What does he offer other than good endurance? His decision-making is probably the worst in the team now that Johnno's gone, and he plays very "small". People were hoping he'd develop into a tagger (myself included), but he's yet to show anything in this regard and tbh I think he'd just get monstered by most of the premier mids.

Really can't see why anyone would want to drop McCarthy!

He has shown more in his first 3 games as a first year player than Stanley or Cook ever have.

Listen I'm all for playing the in-form VFL players and both Cook and Stanley deserve their chances, but both look a little out of their depths.

Now it's finals footy and it goes up another notch. Both haven't shown me enough to warrant finals selection.

If those are the changes I feel very confident about this weekend.
