It doesn't matter really ... the matchups are random (top half vs bottom half).

No matter where you're ranked in the top half, you have the same chance of getting the toughest opponent in the bottom half.

I don't think this is how it should work.

#1 ranked for any given week should be ranked with with the last qualifying ranked team, #2 rank with the second lowest qualifying team and so on.

I thought that was how it worked

To be totally honest a hell of luck decides eliminator, realistic you could just fluke easy opponents.

As N29 said he been averaging really good scores and yet has only scaped through

yet others Vs ppl that have an average of 1800.

I had a friend that scored less than 1700 this week and got through. I couldn't believe it when he told me.

-1 I disagree. The whole point of an FA Cup knock out type of comp is the randomness (is that a word?) of the draw...it'd be a lot less interesting if it was a tennis style seeded draw imo. I like it how it is.

Yeah, I've been getting through pretty comfortably so far with an average winning margin of about 500.

Playing 'The Goodes'. Highest ranked elim opponent I've had, and his elim ranking is higher than mine, although my overall ranking is slightly higher.

Our backline is similar and our midfield is basically identical, so it'll come down to the forwardline where I'm backing Chappy to outperform Harvey/Thomas, and hopefully my Sandi-Cox combo should also have the edge over Ryder-Kruezer.

Should be a tight game though.

Anominators (Me): Enright, Carrazzo, Swan, Ablett, Hayes, Byrnes, Podsiadly, Dangerfield

We both have Keneally - ill be trading him to Kelly/Gilbert at this stage. I would assume he would be doing something similar.

That midfield is missing a key ingredient, a bald man that could score as captain the equivalent of barlow, judd and mitchell together...... and his name is not chappy.

I should win, ranked 120kish with a 1743 average. I average 2000+.

I'm playing "Choker" pretty similar average to me, but seemed to have a bad week last week. Seems to have a weakish backline so hopefully I can exploit that. Ive got a fair bit of cash spare so I can upgrade probably Gumby, however this means I will still cop a doughnut for Jaensch, unless he gets named.

Are they possibly a team made a few weeks into the season and thus their average is distorted? I played a team last week averaging 1500 yet it had Ablett, Swan, Goddard, Hodge and a whole array of guns! luckily I snuck over the line because going out to a team made 2 or 3 weeks in would be a real kick in the guts

Maybe.

Got just over 2000 last week.

Ordinary backline. Weaknesses in every position. Although knowing my luck he will pull a 2300 this week and i will get rolled :S
