Society & Culture Elliot Rodger crazy stuff

Noone knows what that is, what the test is for it. A very dangerous term to throw around. Think of all the people wrongly categorized with this term and how the community reacts when hearing that term? When its associated (loosly) with Elliot Rodgers behavior creates a label from hell
I somehow doubt that Elliot will be too perturbed. If the words I wrote do not convey the meaning I hoped they would, then I have failed. Are you in any doubt about what I meant? If not, the words have done their business. I couldn't give a toss about how 'the community' reacts to what I write on BigFooty. It was not a label, but a description of his behaviour. If you choose to interpret it as a label, that is your doing.

The father of Christopher Martinez, one of the men killed in the shootings emerged to offer a brief and emotionally wrenching denunciation of gun advocates and policies that he said lead to the death of his child.

“This death has left our family lost and broken,” the father, Richard Martinez, said. “Why did Chris die? Chris died because of craven irresponsible politicians and the N.R.A. They talk about gun rights. What about Chris’s right to live. When will this insanity stop?”

It never takes long. And sure enough, 'a CNN affiliate' has obtained a manifesto.

I felt you made it sound like only paranoid skitzophrenics do this sought of thing, yet you have no evidence to suggest he is.There's enough paranoia in the community about psychiatric labels as their is.

History tells us that white males are the ones doing mass shootings. your a white male are you not?

I agree with you to this extent, it is only because of the sometimes sensational behaviour exhibited by schizophrenics, when in a florid psychotic state, that they receive disproportionate media coverage. In fact, such people are no more prone to violence than any others. It's just that when they do lose it, they tend to do so spectacularly.

Your second paragraph makes no sense to me.

An earlier version of this article misstated one word in the name of the college where Elliot Rodger was a student. It is Santa Barbara City College, not Santa Barbara Community College. In addition, a picture caption with this article misstated the name of the college campus near the shooting. As the article correctly notes, it is the University of California, Santa Barbara — not the University of Santa Barbara.
See, they're already changing the "official story".

can you reference anything to back that up?

Personal conversations with three Melbourne psychiatrists, including Dr Lester Walton, during twelve months of research into the activities of a diagnosed schizophrenic, who had been accused by four people of being responsible for a murder I was writing about. Through these months of research and nine hours of interviews with this fellow, I was able to prove conclusively that he could not possibly have been responsible for the murder.

At the time the murder occured, he was 1,000 km away, in court in Brisbane, being remanded on charges of malicious wounding of a shopkeeper . He had escaped from Royal Park Psychiatric Hospital and gone off his medication. He overturned a glass display case in a pawn shop, causing the 80 year-old owner to suffer cuts to his leg, which almost severed it. During the remand hearing he said only three things : "My name is __ ____ ____. My rank is artist. I shall not participate any further."

diagnosed schizophrenic, gone off his medication.

Firstly the diagnoses of schizophrenia is quackery.

Secondly, I know two friends diagnosed with this, both were in motor cycle accidents in the early 80's, both were givin the neuroleptics available at that time to numb the brain so it could heal. both 'spun out' when the treatment was stopped. They were then givin that horrible diagnoses and medicated with the medication that caused it, for life.

Thirdly, a "schitzophrenic" is 400 times more likely to be a victim of a crime than a person without such a label.More likely to r*ped, murdered, set up in court ect ect than any other "group".

Nobody is more critical than I of the quackery that is psychiatry. The treatment of this disorder, whatever you want to call it, with anti-psychotic drugs, is an absolute scandal. The hideous side effects (impotence, obvious, uncontrollable shaking, disconnection from their existence) on those prescribed, and often forced to take these drugs, causes those using them to default on taking their medication. The system meant to oversee this regime is useless to non-existent. This fellow's story ended up as a half hour radio documentary, written, produced and narrated by me. The conclusion I reached was basically that the administration of these drugs should not necessarily be the first port of call for such people, because such a course of action is irreversible. To step away and think through other treatment alternatives might be more beneficial. Of course, in the days of instant fixes to problems and the prohibitive cost of appropriately dealing with sufferers of this malaise, to drug and forget is a much more acceptable to tax payers. Let us not forget though, there are no votes in crims or loonies. This attitude will inevitably backfire, eventually, and the costs of this far outweigh those of proper, considered treatment.

What sort of alternative therapies would you propose?

Skimmed over some of this. He writes about his little brother like any normal guy would, then the next paragraph he says he must kill his brother on the day of retribution so he doesn't live a better life than him.

There were three phases for the massacre. He was going to enter a sorority house and kill everyone in there, but no one answered the door. He then moved onto phase 2 and killed random people on the street. Then phase 3 was kill his father's gf and his little brother.

Remember the video the Virginia Tech dude made in the middle of his attacks? Same sorta thing, always blaming everyone else for their insanity.

So this guy was hellbent on wiping out a sorority but left when they didn't answer the door?

Only managed to pick off three people with his gun? And immediately ran into police?

They don't make 'lone nuts' like they used to.

he stabbed 3 males to death in his apartment before he went to the sorority tried to get in to murder a bunch of women, couldn't get in so he started picking off random people whilst driving around in his car then got into a shootout with police got hit in his side crashed his car and killed hilmself

Wait, so it's convenient here that he only killed six people. That's all the government needed.

But then why do people say Port Arthur was a government thing. Why would you need to kill children and the old and more people?

On one hand the government only needs to kill a few people, on the other they need to kill heaps? I do not get it.
