Opinion Elliot Yeo to the midfield

I think that Simpson would have this on his to do list. Masten has already confirmed a change up in the midfield.

And when Hurn is ready, Glass back and Ellis. Then i think that we will see Yeo, Ellis and Sheppard taking turns in the midfield

Needs to be in the middle asap, should replace Scooter and Ploddus should be ousted as well. We know what those two can give us and its bad kicking and snail like defensive efforts. Get Yeo in the centre, even if its as a run with and see what he can do. Bring in Tunners & Colledge etc to replace Scooter & Ploddus and run them through the middle and half fwd along with Hutchings and the rest of our mids like Wellers, Shuey, Masten. Change it up and start developing the future midfield while evaluating what we've got to work with.

wellingham in the middle looks like he would get blown away by a simple easterly breeze, priddis kicks and hopes as soon as he gets it

Not sure that is his brother.

I am pretty sure he is his brother as I recall reading in the Tigers newsletter when he got a transfer to Claremont from East Fremantle.

gotta try mixing things up because obviously the midfield is losing the close games

I'd argue the forwards kicking at goal are losing us the close ones at present, whilst the midfield is what is stopping us being genuine finals contenders

re: "oh no, lets pull another player out and chuck him in the midfield"..this doesnt apply to Yeo.
Yeo is actually being groomed for the midfield...the coach has said so.
He's developing or settling in to a new team with his familiar role off the flank..we're starting to see more forays forward as his confidence and familiarity builds. didnt he kick his first goal last weekend?
i think this guy can make a big difference..he's got a touch of class about him, and has 'dog' written all over him..nothing like a classy dog!? (wasnt Kerr a classy dog).
he's got that core strength and a low centre of gravity, can break and run, burns off opponents, tackles well..he's a midfielder waiting to happen..probably needs more endurance running and kicking improvement..doesnt even need much more bulk..post mid season Yeo to go!!

Pretty sure we traded him in with those intentions.

Oh no another lets keep developing hff's and hbf's because we need their drive.

pretty sure in what manner and what do you understand that "he can play in midfield" means? people still think only designated midfielders play in midfield whilst reality is 10-12 players play through there each game. this isnt 1990, roles are not designated in such a manner anymore.

well how many do we have that are actually good at driving off hbf?

Wing suits him more than onball. He's very good overhead, which helps for locking the ball in our front half when oppositions try and rebound outside of the 50 by kicking to a contest close to the boundary line.

Having a tall wingman who's lightning fast, confident, and good overhead is a pretty good weapon.

Yeo has clean and quick hands and is strong over the ball and tall. He's good defensively and can run away from a stoppage.

Yeo might well be suited to wing more at this stage (he's 21!), but you look at his abilities rather than just his stature and current production and he looks to have some ability to play on ball. Flexibility is a valuable thing and i'd place no limits on what Yeo can achieve.

Yeah definitely, I was referring to now, i.e. he should be playing parts of the game on the wing this year. I'm all for Simpson being as flexible as possible with our players this year - we're not a contender.

Are we all a bit less annoyed that we used a second rounder on Yeo now? Gotta feel for Brissy

I was more than happy with that at the time. In regards to Brizzy, just goes to show you what a shitty club culture breeds.
really pleased with the Yeo pickup. didnt have to wait long to see his value.
Yeah I was too. It was more directed as those who weren't.

Well, actually I think most people were happy to get him but were annoyed we weren't being harder on Bris.

Maybe we wanted to butter them up for when Rich requests a trade?

nah Snoop Lion is rich for life
