Let me just add this sobering thought. Cale Morton used to rack them up at colts.Yeh my point I guess was that his tank can't be that bad if he could rack up so many touches in a match regardless of the level.
What's the equation?
Aish & Lewis vs Sheed, Yeo & Karpany?
WCE on the losing end of that one, but needs more time to evaluate properly.

be interesting to know if the recruiters got the vibe that he was going home no matter what - brissy ignored this and went for him - we went for sheed as a resultI fully expect Aish to do a Polec and start dominating after he moves to Port! But even then it's possible Sheed > Aish.
I apologise to our recruiters! we are lucky to have kept our first in hind sight!!
I agree. It is going to be very painful for Brisbane when it happens. You wouldda thought they'd have sorted their issues out. The amount of young talent they've lost is incredible.I fully expect Aish to do a Polec and start dominating after he moves to Port!
I'm not sold on Aish performing the way Polec has, Polec had a terrible run with injuries during his time with Brisbane and seemed hard done by when given a chance, Aish is turning over the ball with just terrible disposal. That said I do also believe that his manager has a hell of a lot to do with his current form problems, he's mentally checked out but can't sort out which Adelaide club he's going to.I fully expect Aish to do a Polec and start dominating after he moves to Port! Maybe there needs to be a rule where all players for their first 3 years or so are managed by a generic AFL employed manager or something, to reduce the risk of young draftees focusing on trades too early ?
Brisbane are asking for 3 year contracts straight from the draft apparently.

And if they say no?
Is this prior to drafting? If its after they are picked ????
So what if they say no?After they are picked, currently it's a 2 year contract straight away.
Brisbane is in a tougher place - it is even hard to attract people to WAbe interesting to know if the recruiters got the vibe that he was going home no matter what - brissy ignored this and went for him - we went for sheed as a result
It would be a basic requirement of nominating for the draft. ie. players who nominate for the 2015 nab afl draft are drafted to the club that chooses them, whatever part of the country said team is. The player agrees by nominating to a two year contract with whatever club nominates them. If they try to say no, they are unable to nominate for draft. So what if they say no?

The only thing they may do (noone can stop them) is suggest to any other clubs than their preffered destination that they may get homesick and leave. ala Chad Wingard.
brizzy is a humid dump with awful traffic and no beachesBrisbane is in a tougher place - it is even hard to attract people to WA
Was reading the Brisbane thread when Elliot was drafted and feel genuinely bad for the lions as you could see their supporters go from curiosity regarding their new skinny recruit from WA, to being encouraged by his early signs and then they were well and truly on board the Elliot train... only to have it derailed when he was traded. Some Lions fans were naturally bitter but there was a nice post commenting on Elliot's 'shy but all around nice guy' character, so it's nice to know we got an excellent player but a decent bloke as well.
Should be a set 3 years with a club option of a 4th. And the club has to pay out those first 3 years if they cut them before.Brisbane are asking for 3 year contracts straight from the draft apparently.
In the NFL it is 4 years for second round on and 5th year option for first rounders. I think this works well, and in the NFL players are even more ready than they are in the AFL, where at least 3-4 years of development is required for most players.
