Port fans, email the club and say you stand behind their decision to send Nick to the pre-season draft.

We cannot afford to back down on this, or we could lose half of our list (the most non-local players in the league apart from Sydney and Brisbane) and would directly strengthen one of our greatest premiership rivals at our great expense.

If the Pies don't make a decent offer, I hope he ends up at the Bullies or Carlton & has a miserable few years at the bottom of the table. Thank goodness we were dealing with Richmond & not the Pies when trading Sugar home last year. IMO, AFL should look into this as Port have been held to ransom. Surely it contravenes the integrity of trading.

Good to see a Crows supporter agrees with us. I think SA will be in agreement nearly 100% on this. Trading should have some rules written into it like the draft. Remember when Nathan Buckley went to Collingwood after being drafted by Brisbane and spending one year there?

And other players who came back to Victoria from Brisbane like O'Bree and Molloy. Funny how it is always Collingwood that comes up in players wanting to move back to their state.

I don't think Port really need a player like Didak but I'd like to see him come home for a late pick when he's out of contract just so we can stuff Collingwood.

Easy for me to say this as I am not a Power supporter, but I am so glad to see a club take a stand at long last against mercenary players who have the audacity to announce which club they are going to play for, long before the two clubs can talk.
By announcing which club the player wants to play for, it weakens any deal his existing club may be able to strike.
Stick with it Port Adelaide, and show the other 15 clubs how its' done.
I'd love to see my club take a similar stance with Rawlings. It would only take a couple of these players to end up where they don't want to be, and suddenly players may re-think before just walking out on a club.

I didn't realise Hell had an AFL club, and if they did, would they have a suitable player to trade for Stevens?

You probably do not care, however I emailed Port to support your argument as the same thing happened to us with Nick Davis last year.
I do not want to recieve a player like Sydney did last year. Nick Davis held us to ransom and we gave in to get smething, for the integrity of the draft i really think you should not give in unless we can better the deal.

uve got my email from an eagles supporter....no player has the right to absolutely crush a club like he has after all u guys have done for him.

I heard that Rucci fellow on perth radio and he said that Stevens had given a talk to the players last yr about loyalty and being a one club player- when from that time he has just been playing out time to go to collingwood.
And then to have wasted 90% of this trade period saying he'll go wherever ....to say he ONLY wants to go the collingwood is sad and pathetic.

apparently there are going to be some BIG revalations over stevens that will come out after the draft with Williams and stevens clashing. I get the feeling there is some stuff that will come out about who has the right to say were a player can play and so on???? well...thats wat rucci said.

Done. I hate Collingwood, so why not help with their pain I say...

They are offering crap, and expect to gain a diamond mine. They think they can force a trade. At least RFC offered 2 picks for Brown. Not even Richard Cole who has not yet had a major impact they would not trade. Thus oh here have pick 17 and be happy..

Port have not been over the top. So Pick 17 is useless and an insult.

Is there some loophole or fact which Eddie knows about that allowing Collingwood to pick him up in the draft? Wouldn't put it past him.
