I flew over for the game as well and agree with all of your comments regarding the sub standard performance.

Did any of you go onto the ground after the game? They allowed people onto the MCG for a kick after the game so I took the opportunity to walk onto the hollowed turf. The first thing that struck me was the stench of the mud, it smelt like peat bog. I nearly slipped over walking across the ground and little kids were falling over all over the place. I was surprised that they let people onto the ground when it was in that state. This is not an excuse just an observation and would explain why some players had trouble keeping their feet (Davey & Jurrah excluded ;)).

I saw some of the players at the airport and can tell you that Pav was filthy on it. He looked like he has had enough. One thing that did impress me was some of the assistant coaches had the laptops out doing video analysis on the flight home, imagine having to pore over that performance again and try and work out what went wrong. Where do you start!

Walking around Melbourne with your Docker gear on is an interesting experience isn't it? Most people give you a look of pity they give the homeless and can't believe that someone actually supports our team.

Well done to our Melbourne supporters who go to our away games and have to put up with it.

Anyway, bring on next year with some of our crap players gone, some of our decent players back from injury and some more gems from the draft!

How did it feel to have your own beer and food stand and half the "G" to yourself??

Funny you should say that 4n20 as I was sitting in the ponsford stand and there was a bar and kiosk just behind me. They decided to close both just after the start of the last quarter and started to hand out some free pies rather than throw them out! There was no free beer but at least a 4n20 for sitting through that toture.:thumbsu:

I feel terribly sorry for you and any other supporters that flew over for Sunday's game.

I feel terribly sorry for you for being loaded with such a sub-standard team to support. :o At least in Melbourne you can go to other games I guess. I went to Adelaide v Hawthorn on Friday night and enjoyed that game a lot more than the Freo one.

If it's hard being a Freo supporter in Perth, it must be ten times harder in Melbourne. There were a lot of Freo supporters at the G on Sunday, and presumably a lot of those live locally. Respect to you all.

The Freo turnout on Sunday was great - I was really pleased to see so many of the Freo faithful there. Just a shame it was a rubbish game. If it is any consolation though, this year's loss didn't hurt anywhere near as much as watching last year's loss. And not one Demons fan disputed that they were tanking - which makes me pity them even more than I already did.

Being a Freo supporter in Melbourne is hard, most definately.

If anything kudos to all those who fly over from Perth to support Freo whether they be in Melbourne or other states.

Spending your hard-earned on a team that doesn't play away from home, gets you a lot of credit.

If only spending like that did get me credit, maybe I'd be able to get a bigger overdraft from the bank manager, instead of him rolling his eyes and lecturing me about wasting my cash on frivolous causes.

The ground ponged something awful, didn't it?!?? Like some giant peaty bog... Funny to see the plonkers run towards the centre square to see who gets there first - the fat dude who "won" couldn't stop quick enough, and wound up tripping himself up on the rope around the cricket pitch area, falling flat on his gargantuan rear end - only funny part of the whole day.

Glad you got to come over and see what it is like to be a Freo follower over here on the east coast. Long, hard yards - makes me all the prouder that there are so many passionate, loyal followers of our club who are prepared to tough it out over here. Even when we don't get to go along to many games, we still follow it on the radio or the net...

Also glad to hear that a few coaches recognise that lessons can be learned from the abysmal pathetic effort that was put on the park on Sunday - just a bit disappointing they didn't think to prepare BEFORE the freakin game. Our game-day coaching on Sunday was idiotic - we made virtually no match up changes until the game was long gone. It was a tie with the Adelaide game for the worst coaching effort this year.

How did it feel to have your own beer and food stand and half the "G" to yourself??

We had at least 75% of the ground to ourselves - I counted 148 spectators across 11 bays of the top deck of the Great Southern Stand - when I was there the day before for the Richmond - Collingwood game, the same 11 bays held almost 10,000 people.

Yes, those free pies are one of the few bonuses from Sunday - along with the free dog food. One hopes they were from different suppliers - or at least that my pie had protein enhanced puppy chow instead of the measly regular sort.

Flew over, and knew with Melbourne's intensity that we were going to be the first to drop ours and felt very sick for the following 3 quarters.

So drained, season over for me. Will just go watch the game this Sunday and hope Stephen Hill does something bullshit.
