Embarrassing

I'll tell you what's embarrassing. This thread. I am ashamed to support the same club as some of you idiots. One loss and Craig needs to be sacked and the world is caving in. Absolutely hate this board with a passion after a loss. OP is an absolute clueless clown.

And the same old players getting picked on, despite being in our best. So many cringeworthy posts from idiots.

yeah good call, it was one out of character performance across many seasons of great success.

oh wait...

So what? We're in 2011 Drummond. Fremantle aren't the easybeats they once were. The sooner you realise that the sooner you'll see how stupid you sound.

ok got it. its alright to be uncompetitive against teams vying for finals.

perhaps you can list the teams when we do need to turn up and show some intensity.

what's really idiotic is people thinking that taking a hollow, mindless track to the high ground is a proxy for any real understanding or analysis of the game.

That 'we pride ourselfs' stuff is throwaway media crap fed to the majority to keep them content.

What club would come out and say, we lacked intensity, but that's us.....

Wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall at meetings this week.

Jaensch had disposal efficiency of 59% mate, which means 10/17 went where intended...not one. If we're hanging blokes for not hitting targets, then everyone including Dangerfield (52%), Walker (57%), Knights (50%) and McKernan (40%) deserve to wear it too.

59% disposal efficiency.

How about his handball to Vince for the goal? How about his 5 goal involvements? Don't be stupid now... :thumbsu:
According to the same source, Henderson's 9 disposals were 69% effective. Can anyone recall a single Henderson disposal which hit a target, or simply didn't make you cringe?

I don't know how Champion Data define disposal efficiency, but it's a different definition from the one I use.

PS. I may have missed the handball to Vince, setting up our first goal. In that case, Jaensch only had 15/17 disposals miss the target.

.

Isn't Carl our fly on the wall?

As Sloane ranger said, if we are serious this year, we will destroy Port next week

If we don't, well that'll tell a big story. And even if we have a big win, i (and i assume a lot of others here) don't want to see a "we're top 4 material" thread started up

This board can have such split personalities

We win, suddenly we're a flag chance and then 1 loss and we're bottom 4 material

We're 2 games in. I still think we'll be 6th-10th this year, just due to the fact we have so many kids playing and with that comes inconsistency

But i can't wait to see how team coming off the bye perform this year. Is it the norm for a slow start, were freo just that good, or were we just that bad?

Ahh right-o, so because Freo are good, it means we’re excused for being useless squibs who looked disinterred? Got ya! :thumbsu:

Stop putting words in my mouth you tool. I've already agreed that we were terrible. But you've clearly shown how lowly you rate Fremantle when in reality they're actually a very decent side.

Where did I say Fremantle are useless? They’re a good side, but they are still young, their form hadn’t been great, and you wouldn’t consider them in the upper echelon of teams.

But as I've said countless times, I can handle losing, but I appreciate an honest effort, putting your body on the line, giving a 100% crack. Didn't happen. Got it?

We've seen these games too often in Neil Craig's coaching. Up against a side at home where they should win and in the first quarter are jumped as they don't have their heads right. Will comment further once I steel myself to watch the replay later in the week.

Happened last season against Port after we beat Geelong. Drives me spare.

Two games now that first quarters have been shite. Better be switched on for the showdown or PAP's will pants us again.:(

WE LOST TO FREMANTLE, AT HOME

Sounds like you don't rate them at all.

Don't patronise me with that bullshit. You're not going to get very far in life with that condescending attitude, son.

I knew exactly what you were saying and I understand and agree with what most people are saying. What I don't agree with is the constant questioning of Craig's job after every loss on this board and the bundle of players that need to be sent back to the SANFL after one average game. I'd hazard a guess that a few people would come back a couple of days later and shake their heads at some of their posts. Some truly embarrassing comments on this board since Saturday - thankfully there's a handful of supporters who have some perspective and keep me sane.

Yep, losing to FREO, AT HOME, is bad. You disagree?

If you look closely at the champion data stats, you'll see that Jaensch applied the most pressure to the opposition of any of the crows players, making 30 pressure acts.

Well spotted.

While watching the game at AAMI, I actually thought Jaensch had a reasonable outing in a game where the team as a whole was deplorable.

To find him mentioned so many times in the 'embarrassing' thread was a surprise.

Yeah, the ones who accept mediocrity. Good for you. :thumbsu:

Perspective? That basically close to 50% of our losses these days we're virtually non competitive?

The only embarrassing thing lately was our efforts on Saturday.

Yep, losing to FREO, AT HOME, is bad. You disagree?

Our performance was bad. But having those preconceived thoughts on a club that will be challenging for the top 4 this year is silly and is evidence that you're basing those comments around the Freo of old when everyone was rubbing their hands together whenever they got to play them on on their home turf. In reality though they're improving every year and have learnt how to win away from home.

Err no. It would be the ones that don't make outlandish statements after one poor performance. That's not accepting mediocrity at all.

Look dude, that’s totally laughable, but if you’re feeling good with that line, you stick with it mate! :thumbsu:

Even if that had been Collingwood we were up against yesterday I still would've been dirty with the effort. It so happened that we were up against a young team, in average form at best, so I was expecting more of an effort.

Ditto this. Especially early he seemed one of the few with a bit of intensity and effort in his game.

Wow, you're so boring! :o I've been through this, I'm not wasting any more of my time on a simpleton.

This board is a truly horrible and depressing place to be after a loss and yes I know I'm on here now but only to voice my frustration at idiot and quite nasty supporters

Exhibit A: Drummond after a loss.

Agreed. I was very impressed with Jaensch's effort compared to the rest of the crows. He seemed to really have a dig. He missed a couple of opportunities but I'd have him in my top 10 crows players easily for Saturday.

I think a loss to Freo at home is a pretty bad missed opportunity. Freo will be contending for finals this year, but we got them at home when they've been nearly as injury prone as we had. We should have been competative and weren't.

This is a loss which should be very quickly moved on from. Almost everyone played terribly. You can't fault Neil Craig's coaching because no game plan is possible when the player's don't put the effort in.

We should just cross off the game as a soft disaster with the only message being how awful we are when we're not focused on the contest.

Nobody's being critical of the gameplan. Everyone is being critical of Craig's failure to motivate his troops. Given that this is the 2nd week in a row where they have been smashed in the first quarter this is not an unfair criticism.

Certainly it was an embarrassing performance. My reading of the game was that Fremantle hunted the ball and the man, and we simply wilted under the pressure. Every time we got the ball we were set upon, and our options were locked down. We had, to my eyes, precisely one convincing entry into our forward line for the whole match - and Hendo even managed to stuff that one up.

Fremantle were fantastic throughout the midfield. Their entries into the forward line were so much better than ours it was almost laughable. It was only their inability to turn those entries into more goals that kept us in the match as long as we were.

We need to dish up a hell of a lot better than that performance if we want to go anywhere. I can handle losing to a superior side if we've given things a red-hot crack. On Saturday, we just wilted and never looked like scoring a goal from anything other than blind luck.

This really annoyed me in the last quarter especially. Walker can kick goals from 50 out without even trying, but he seemed to forget that he had a freaking gale behind him.
Pretty sure he put one OOF, and kicked a couple points in the last quarter.
