.I often listen to heavy metal, punk, and a few others...I've never listened to Fall Out Boy, I know that Dashboard Confessional have been considered emo, so I expected to see them on the list..wikipedia sometimes isn't the best source, but I read a bio on MCR and on that said they weren't in the EMO genre.

I have no idea what makes music EMO music, some pop songs could easily be thrown in as emo, as well as some songs by The All American Rejects.
 
Emos are just sad sack 15 year olds who want to be different for the sake of being different, yet dont have the capacity to realise that they are just conforming to the 'in thing' anyway. At least goths did it properly.

Emo fashion is usually defined to have roots in punk fashion as well as gothic fashion. By almost all current definitions, emo clothing is characterized by tight jeans on males and females alike, long fringe (bangs) often brushed to one side of the face, dyed black hair, tight t-shirts which often bear the names of rock bands, studded belts, belt buckles, Chuck Taylor All-Stars or other black shoes - often old and beaten up - and thick, black-rimmed glasses. In the satirical video, How to Be: Emo, the main character, Billy, is told that he should purchase his new emo attire from the local thrift store, and that "the smell of old is the smell of emo gold.

Like it or not, those knobs are emo in the current sense of the word. As are Panic!, AFI and 30 Seconds To Mars (who get my vote for the gheyest film clip of all time).

Bunch of ugly people who have to create a subculture to create their own ranking system so at least the least ugliest can be considered cool and desirable.

Emos are always like......Life is so hard, i hate life and lets not conform and stuff like that.

Don't see how cutting themselves can make them feel better. If its meant to be a cry for help then thats just a stupid form of getting it.

Anyways, emos are pretty much ****ed up fraks who listen too crap music, whinge about people who conform to an image, even though they do, know nothing about life, and need a good old bashing

Emo's mostly with a few goth's, punks, the knobs with those stupid orange shirts on (amnesty church or what ever it is), and a few homeless bums thrown in for good luck...:thumbsu:

I laugh every time I walk past the church on the corner of Williams and Hay on my way down to the train station, I just wish they could see how stupid they actually look....
 
Bloody hell, some of you people are incredibly ignorant and have absolutely no idea what emo is.

In simple terms, its a musical genre, its emotinally driven punk mostly to do with self-analysis and yes, sometimes self pity.

Emo does NOT mean cutting yourself, emo does not in anyway promote cutting yourself, and in most cases REAL emo's do not cut themselves.

Emos do not hate life.
The emos you see that fake depression are FAKE and are tryhards and are not REAL emos.

cant stand emo music.

Also cant stand people talking about something they know nothing about and making ignorant coments, that is why im defending them.
 
if you have a kid thats emo, kill them on their birthday.


it'll be the cheapest present you ever give them - and it'll shut the whiney little reject up.
