Mate should have stuck to basketball ... we should just resign Soldo when his contract expires at Port at the end of next yearwe never got to see what Mate had or could of had if fully developed over the years.
injuries took there toll and his time was up.

You could probably trade some peanuts for him and get himMate should have stuck to basketball ... we should just resign Soldo when his contract expires at Port at the end of next year![]()

Trade 5th round picks to get soldoYou could probably trade some peanuts for him and get him
As long as he's not "sleeping with the fish""spending time with the family" sounds like mafia code
As long as he's not "sleeping with the fish"
Maybe I spoke too soon...

Yep. All of the other uncontracted players at least have a shred of trade currency.Have delisted the most obvious players - KMac, Colina and Bauer.
Colina wasn't even VFL standard when he was fit. Bauer undersized for a KPF and always tried to take MOTY to compensate. KMac a depth player.
Probably won't make any more changes until after trade period.
If we trade out some players that might give a lifeline to Smith, Sonsie or Dow. I suspect Blight will be traded and possibly another KPD
Fishes. "...sleeps with the fishes."As long as he's not "sleeping with the fish"
Is that how they make mermaids? As long as he's not "sleeping with the fish"
Everyone is staying lol
or that Faull was the third player we picked at last years draft
Smart by KalebFree coffees from Caleb Smith too.
Well, the party is over now.
Well we don't know ... you aren't going to delist players before they finished playing VFL finalsGoing to be interesting to see what other list changes they will make, feel like there is a hell of a lot of players on our list that have big question marks on there usefulness beyond 1 more season due to age, serious injury hurdles, or "contractually obliged"
Lefau
Prestia
Lynch
Dow
Clarke
Gibcus
Ryan
Kosi
K.Smith
Blight
Dow, Smith & Blight could see themselves cut in the next couple of weeks, but as it stands - roughly 1/4 of our list would have to be considered "highly unlikely" to play another 20- 50 games of AFL
years 23 24 25Herald sun says kozi is out of contract. Thats not right is it?
What you have failed to realise in your long soliloquy is that this draft is crap and that Smilie may never be right or good.Well we don't know ... you aren't going to delist players before they finished playing VFL finals
And sure ... but depth is important ... Gold Coast have showed over the last 15 years that you can't have 35 kids and 5 pensioners on your list and go anywhere ...
WE used just about everyone this year ... even Kosi was useful at AFL level when Lunch had his brain fade (and to give credit where it's due) his second half of the year at VFL level he has played some seriously good football ....
The size of him, Lefau, Blight provide our young forwards and backs players with AFL size to train against.
With Smilie not even having played we effectively will be adding 3 top 10 picks to the side next year .... (and we only need to cut one more player to do it)
That will make 11 talented young players (half the team) ... 9 of them first round picks ... that weren't playing in 2024 ( yes I am including Gibcus) You don't want a side where more than half are teenagers
You can make way for pick 2,3 and Kellaway (who I think we will list as a rookie and upgrading Campbell to the main list) by just delisting Dow or Sonsie or whoever and you could even rookie them again ...
I like our list a lot ... whether it is by design or just ended this way ....
We have added the elite players last after developing the role players that needed more games to get to the level like Tresize, Ralphsmith, Sonsie, Green, Young, Dow and Rioli now have 30-50 games under their belt and able to have big games .... for example Sonsie played an exceptional game against Collingwood but you would be worried if we were relying on him to be at that level every week.
And players like Miller Banks Campbell and Brown have developed further and are on the verge of becoming A graders
We don't need more kids to develop ... some speed through our midfield (hopefully Rioli can make this step) and we are a sneaky chance to play finals next year from where I am sitting
The role players you've nominated are a bunch of hacks and if that's what you're putting up as regular players then we are F***ing rooted.Well we don't know ... you aren't going to delist players before they finished playing VFL finals
