Heard a whisper that this is a long game

One or both club's members will vote against the merger proposal. Inevitable. SACA will be able to say to its members that even two clubs willing to merge won't merge under the current constitution. We won't be able to reduce the number of clubs or heed the recommendations of the Hussey review.

Therefore... we need to change the SACA constitution so that the board decides the number of clubs.
This whisper gaining credence.

Merger likely to fall over.

Constitution revamped. An 8 or 10 team competition in the future with clubs having to apply to be part of it.

Fox with a very bizarre commentary set up for the game, splicing in bits of Spark Sports commentary with Fox Cricket commentators.

Just got real awkward when Spark were chatting to a miced up Glenn Maxwell while Mark Waugh’s blabbing on oblivious to what’s happening on screen.

Just stick to the native commentary Fox dubbing over it just makes you look stupid.

From my recollection the English Rugby League did this or something similar around 10 years ago to the English Super League and it has made them a lot more competitive.

It just makes sense. Too much sense for it to have ever been though of here really.

IMO should have also done the same with all the Victorian teams when the AFL was forming as well.

So your 10 teams would consist of

East Torrens
Kensington
Glenelg
Tea Tree Gully
Northern Districts
Port Adelaide
Sturt

And a combination of the others.

Get rid of Adelaide Uni

Pretty easy really.

East Torrens and Gullies would be an interesting merger.

Both huge clubs, would be fun trying to carve them up.
Are they?

Would suggest Kensington, Sturt, Glenelg, Prospect, West Torrens, Adelaide and Northern Districts are all bigger.

This is a move that is necessary, no matter how unpopular it is.

Tea Tree Gully would be amongst the bigger grade clubs, relatively successful too.

Prospect and ET would probably be a more favourable merger for both clubs

Either or, I have no affiliation with any club in grade cricket.

Similar to the 2 zones in the SANFL for Norwood and North Adelaide.

So we suck at T20

Maybe we need a longer, expanded Big Bash to improve our skills?

We need to bring in BBLX, played on smaller ovals. Our batsmen might be able to clear the field then.

I’d have picked him to complain about them taking too long to walk off!
Usually complains about them looking back at the stumps after being bowled, rather than walking straight off.
