That kind of stuff has no place in the game anymore, see the constant bitching about how Jackson and King keep getting suspended. Remember how many weeks Cotchin got for such a soft hit? How about Martin's 1 game suspension for breathing on an opposition player?

just to clarify so i am not misrepresented here i am suggestuing that these guys need to be in the mix to ensure our youngsters aren't thrown around and ruffed up, not sure I was advocating king hits behind play or reportable incidents were a necessary factor....glad i cleared that up

Well .. you did compare this to something that Stopper Turner did 15 years ago (how old does that make you feel) .. that would have netted him a nice 8 week holiday by todays standards

If you're talking about the one with Campbell Brown, Brown definitely come out better with that one. What saves Cogga is he shows the brave face.

Gotta love the Kingy one with Spencer. Guys weighs nearly twice as much as him. Its like the little dog over the big dog. Big dog doesn't know he could eat little dog for breakfast.

Anyway, AFL are stamping as much of the "borderline unfair" rough play out as possible. With clubs wanting more protection to their best midfield players, i'd say the taggers are going to have to do their job more subtly. Any, better having strong guys that have the tackling style to win the free. (eg: grabbing one arm to effect improper disposal)
