I am commenting on the history of players being kissed on the dick by selectors. Of which S.Waugh is the supreme example, living or dead.

Any other assumptions you make are your own.
You quoted posts about Darsh with some garbage about how '80's cricket is somehow comparable to now and that Waugh was kissed on the dick based on runs only

Stop drinking your username. It's over, go home

No I didn't.

Although I find it fascinating that such a vehement authority as yourself holds the opinion that Test Batsmen should not be judged on the runs they score.

That is quite odd, if you think a moment or two.

I'm no Steve Waugh fan either but FMD. :$

Khawaja is a superstar in Australia.
Problem is he's pathetic elsewhere and selectors will likely fall into the trap of backing him on our next tour elsewhere. We should be at least looking for players who can play in all conditions, not home deck heroes like Khawaja or sub-continental specialists like Marsh.

I'm far less a Darsh hater than most here, but Maxwell's treatment is a ******* disgrace.
It's pathetic, Maxwell is still yet to play a home test, yet Marsh has been a consistent disaster here all through his career. I could understand if they went with Cartwright (who was stiff to be dropped for India because of the other Marsh), but picking the 34yo known quantity is unforgivable.

The worst part in all this is the poms are so absolutely hopeless that we'll still probably win 4 tests and the selectors will give themselves a big pat on the back for a job well done.

We won't accept mediocre: selectors

As they name Shaun Marsh :drunk::huh:
FFS, you could put a picture of him in the dictionary alongside the definition, Homer Simpson style. :straining:

In regards to Shaun, At least his brother wasn’t picked. Very, very harsh on Renshaw. Is young and has the right stuff for Test cricket. These good young players need time. Disappointed.
If the selectors don’t give a shit about who keeps surely Handscomb takes the gloves. Tim Paine getting picked for the biggest series in a long time is very surprising but I wish him all the best. Lucky our bowling’s so strong. Gonna be a much harder series then some people are predicting. Aus 3-2 or 3-1 .

So here’s my prediction.

Starc will get injured in one of the first 2 tests. From that point on, the other 2 quicks will struggle under the weight of expectation, leaving Lyon to carry the attack singlehandedly—again. This will open the door for a few of the English batsmen to get runs and ultimately put the English on the front foot.

Meanwhile, Australia’s batting lineup will be pretty much the old Smith-Warner combo. However, Warner will undoubtedly wither wither at key moment of the series. Shaun will do just enough to get picked for the whole series and will finish the series with an impressive century—after England have sewn the thing up. Bancroft will be given his baggy green in the last test, he’ll score 100 on debut, then get dropped for the next series.

Trevor Hohns, you beauty.
