If anyone didn't already know. The pitch rating for the third test that lasted two days was "average".

Who was the match referee who rated the pitch?: Javagal Srinath

And an Ashes test at the MCG a couple of years ago that ended in a draw was rated "poor".

I'm confused. Perhaps the players should rate the pitch, they are the ones who have to play on it.
 
Roy & Bairstow are fast becoming the greatest ODI opening partnership of all time and it’s not even close at this rate.
They’re batting in a time where 320+ scores are the norm. Give me Gilchrist/Hayden over those two any day of the week. No doubt a few more pairings too.

I'd much prefer the pitch they produced for the 3rd test compared to that MCG wicket.
