The Pakistanis put us in to bat here at Lords,it has been raining last few days & is cloudy so they obviously thought it would be a good idea but we've made an ok start just before lunch we're 1/81.Hopefully we can beat this lot & get ourselves nicely warmed up for the Ashes.

What a performance beating the Pakis by an innings inside 3 days,we just can't stop winning.I keep thinking that it's gonna stop but we the victories keep on coming & as you'd expect everyone is talking about the Ashes & the confidence level is rising.

Bring it on Australia we're ready for ya!

Because the whole of the first day was washed out the game becomes a 4 day game which means that the follow on target is 150 behind instead of 200.

WOW !

I didn't know that.

Seems like a crap rule to me.

One of the things I like about test cricket is that it is not hung up on a result for an individual test match. In my view if the follow on figure is 200 then it is 200....doesn't matter if it rains or not.

That change effectively cost the pakis the match (apart from their inept batting and bowling of course !). But given the state of the match, one would think that if England batted again then it would have been a draw.

hmmmm I don't like it.

ptw

They're probably feeding them our national dish of curry washed down with warm lager.

We've won 4 series on the trot Zimbawe & West Indies at home & Pakistan & Sri Lanka away & this series is only 2 matches so if we win this we'll be going into the first Ashes test with 5 series wins under our belts as opposed to your boys who will be coming off a defeat.(had to get that in-LOL).
Seriously no one can quite believe what's happening & everyone's trying not to get too carried away regarding the Ashes cos we all know that Australia is the best team but at the same time we know that if we play the sort of cricket we've played in the last year then we've got a chance.

Ptw,
I know what you're saying but to say that it cost them the match is misleading as firstly there was a full days play still to come so even if we'd batted I'm sure we could have scored quick runs declared & still bowled them out & we did lose the whole first day so to beat them in 3 days is pretty impressive-almost Australian in fact.Plus as you should well know it's not always beneficial to enforce the follow on!
