Bolton has been around Hawthorn or Box Hill Hawks since 2009. He knew the players better and had more Hawthorn credits in the bank.

The actual reason is out of all the assistant coaches Ratts is the only one who is irreplaceable.

As no one else can actually do his role, all the other assistants could chip in to fill the hole to enable Bolton to be head coach.

At least we were exciting to watch under Ratten. Although our development and list mgt was shit house.

Now our wins are often just as stale and stressful as our losses.

Can you not see the link? Poor list management and drafting will leave the cupboard dry - Whats there to win with?

Just did a search for the positivity thread and it came up with this:

We have brought in the likes of Menzel, Cripps, Docherty, Buckley but it's still stale.

It shits me to no end that we have leading forwards in Henderson, Menzel getting killed by our hail mary kicks to the forward line. The way we move the ball with predictable long kicks straight to opposition numbers doesn't really help the team either.

Trigg and co taking the piss. This club is backed by and run by morons. No wonder no player wants to play for us. Now recruiting Footscray rejects...how far we have fallen? I cant see the bottom yet.

Untill Friday night I was ready to give LoGuidice a chance. In a way I know it's silly but seeing the Dr. in the box absolutely killed my respect for this current regime. I couldn't put my finger on why it annoyed me so much untill now! It symbolizes how far we have come from the old days (not very)! As a club we can't get past the quick fix of having rich benefactors throwing a bandaid over our problems. As a board and as a club it means that we never learn to work hard enough. How can we expect our players to work hard and bleed for the club when the soft unaccountable attitudes permeate from the top. Where is this clubs fight, passion, blood sweat and tears! As a supporter and member I'm prepared to fight for the club but where is this same passion from the top?!

It is clear that the club isn't pulling in the same direction. The board sending a message after round two that we are rebuilding was an appalling decision. It was completely different from the message Mick has been sending out!

I was prepared to give LoGuidice regime my support, but that board has lost me. I'm praying for a rival ticket to challenge. Hell I'm thinking of challenging myself!!

I'm so sick of our footy club being average at best and making mistake after mistake after mistake.
Even with Shane Rogers leaving is just another instance of our football club shooting itself in the foot.
He was doing such a good job, and even though getting a favourite son back to the footy club is a good thng, I feel we have lost a very good asset to our footy club.

I've never in my life not looked forward to going to the games each week. Really finding it hard to come up with a reason to get to Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

Well you've certainly articulated where the battle lines were drawn this off season. Half the supporters went one way with Rogers list changes, and half went the other. What worried me, was the constant mention of our recruiting system being 'old school' and an unwillingness to come to a consensus decision amongst his fellow recruiting team. Time will tell how bad it will be for the club.

Jesus.

After reading this thread, i just realised I felt less depressed after watching Schindler's List.
That's because Schindler had a quality list.

Yeah we will definitely have to agree to disagree.

Fair enough you can do what ever you want with your free time, football isn't everything.

Sometimes it's not enjoyable, you have to goto training when it's raining in the middle of winter after working all day, it would be "more enjoyable use of my time" to sit on the couch and watch a movie. But that's not what football is about, you push through the hard times because the rewards are worth it.

I understand your point K however I think MEB and others are making the point that highly paid CFC players are not doing what you say "pushing through the hard times".

I went to many games when we were really struggling and I knew we would most likely lose.

At the moment I just don't see the effort from the more highly paid players at the club.

It really, really peeves me off that these bludgers are earning obscene amounts of money (paid by members like me) and putting in half hearted efforts.

Yes - I mean you Bryce Gibbs. If he put as much effort into making a tackle as he does his "pretty boy" hair - I would be a little happier!!

Bryce will be fine once he finds his way out of the matrix.

Yeah Bryce has been disappointing no doubt.

Not saying Id do it myself but I wouldn't get upset if supporters booed poor efforts.

I think it would send a stronger message from supporters that they aren't happy to have 50k there on Sunday cheering good efforts and booing poor ones from experienced players.

If I was a player at a club that wasn't going to play finals and supporters just stopped showing up, I'd be more likely to just go through the motions than if there was a full house there booing me for not putting in.

Exactly.

It's hard for me to justify going to watch Carlton at the moment when I know that I'm going to see a much more competitive game of footy by watching the Northern Blues.

Did you forget the fact that I flew all the way to ****ing NEW ZEALAND to watch the football?
I rarely miss a game, I'm just sick of sanctimonious people who puff their chests out and look down their nose at other people "Ohhhh...You didn't go to the game last week? You're not a TRUE SUPPORTER like I!"

Get over yourself.
