Please provide names of 5 high profile Business people who are fans of the club.

Why do we need a high profile? Anybody with a skill set and resources that can help the club without doing it for the prestige is welcome. Sometimes it's the company bosses that are completely out of touch with the common man. It's not just about money, it's about inclusion which in turn brings money.

Bang on the money for mine!!

I'd never heard of Ian Dicker ....

I didn't mean rich. By 'high profile' I meant people with serious business experience. Apologies.

Can you expand on that please ODN?

It's a perception sherb.

Our board has factions aligned to powerbrokers. Powerbrokers buy the right to have public and private opinions, strong opinions, so strong it implies they won't tip in their money if what they think should be done isn't done. We know that powerbrokers got rid of Ratts. It was implied as much at the time.

We heard before LoGiudice got the gig that he was aligned to Mathieson. He came from the clouds to get that gig after a short time on the board. I don't know what transpired but it all does feel a little pre-ordained.

Our board is always pulling the levers but taking no responsibility. Exactly what skills are these guys using to further the club?

Business experience yeah but relevant business experience. Football clubs are not like businesses when you look at supporters being the lifeblood of a team and its driving passionate force.

Thanks for that ODN.

As I am interstate, I've always been a bit removed from the inner workings of the club.

I'm interstate too. I just read persistent rumours, read articles, read between the lines ... and go with my gut at the end of the day.

Well that buries my excuse then.............:)

By a stroke of good luck my membership pack was still sitting untouched in the cupboard...haven't seen a game yet this year.

Anyway, long story short, after scrolling through the microwave digital display looking for the membership card setting for half an hour I came to the realization that there is a better way. The membership pack is currently on it's way back to Princes Park, a cancellation has been placed on the monthly direct debit, and Oxfam are now the beneficiary of that modest monthly sum.

Not a grandiose statement, nor is it a permanent action...I'll ante up again when I feel the club warrants my financial support, but for now there is very little I like about Carlton, a couple of promising juniors aside. The on-field stuff alone is enough for me to pack it in, but Edelstone's foul-toothed, shit eating grin in the back of the coaches box was the absolute final straw.

Nope.
He's a buffoon.

Watching him blunder through the AFL industry is almost as embarrassing as when Sticks was Pres.

They don't get it. They lack insight.

He's part of the problem. He doesn't deserve anymore time, he's been there for years as part of the board.

Exactly.

Didn't say stop loving the team, just realise you are contributing to the problem.

I bought 3 memberships, they packs arrived the Thursday arvo before the Richmond game. They are still in the wrappers. Bought them on the back of the pre-season fibs, again. Silly me.

But even though there's no fool like an old fool, it appears you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Buying a membership is a reward for mediocrity and maintains the status quo. Will not provide one more cent, go to one more game, sell one more ticket to support a club that is run like this.

You should probably just find a new hobby in life in general and just walk away and never return.

Bye.

This is a Sh1t mindset. Cripps may yet get the glory he deserves. If you feel this badly about our Club, why don't you Jump Ship, at least you'll have more peace in your life.

Carlton are like an old mate you grew up with that is just shit at life. They cant keep a job, will never pay you back that money they owe you, are always late and generally just Team Cluster****. Your still mates but you just dont expect them to ever do anything. And then you catch up and he's snagged some top chick and your happy for him. But you know sooner rather than later she will wise up and leave, or get dragged down into Team Cluster**** and start to suck at life also.

In this metaphore Cripps is that top bird, your sad if she is gone but understand why, and if she stays you just see all her broken dreams.

You vent on here, on talkback radio, you cop abuse from your mates... then you pull yourself together and turn up the following week to cheer the boys on with some sort of deluded optimism full of what ifs... thats footy, plenty of downs that make the good times all the more special.

Too true - can't believe the guy who rang 3AW in todays pre-game talkback saying he has given up barracking for Carlton because the players are pathetic !!

In my opinion blokes like this are as soft as supposedly the players they are criticizing.

I like the idea of a rally at the club but it should be a positive vibe - we know the club is down, the players and coaches are down but we are here to support !!!

Yeah, that'll shake things up.

4. Ahmed…bwahahaaa. He is doing a great job at Australia Post.

Just because he wants to lead Carlton does not mean he is capable. We need to know if he could actually add value before we hire him, and how much it would cost. Ahmed is expensive and talks a great game but at Australia Post has not delivered (other than price rises). Do not want!

first thing is to not be hysterical

second is accept that a rebuild takes time and draft picks

That's exactly right. The supporters have to have patience and realize collectively that if we want the club to be a long term success, the only way to go, is to draft and develop the "right" young players.

No quick fixes PLEASE !!! That means that when you get a single digit draft pick No. 7 like last year, you keep it and pick the best KP position player available and not down grade it to pick No. 19.

If you are like me and love the CFC and have been a life long supporter, (just clocking over 46 years) you stick with the club and be positive and support the club. The easiest thing in the world is stop going to the games.

Believe me if we do the rebuild right, our turn at the top of the tree will come again. True it won't be easy and it won't happen overnight, or next year or even if in 5 years maybe, but it can be done. Look at Hawthorn, they nearly folded as an independent club and merged in 1996 as they were on their knees financially and bereft of on field success ... and look at them now !!!
