I know, killer thread topic right?:p

Just something I've been curious about for a while & can't seem to find an answer anywhere else. Before every game, at least that I see live, just before the bounce I notice Corey Enright does maybe 20 pushups before getting in position. He's the only one. Has anyone else noticed this or know why he does it? Superstition perhaps?

I know he is an accredited personal trainer, but I'd imagine if it was of great benefit as a warm up maybe the whole team would do it. But then it would look kinda weird if they did it at the same time, like a haka.

lacing up the boots counts as a warm up in veterans
You'd be surprised candie, there's some pretty serious Vets out there, the min is over 32, but some teams have some suspiciously young looking dudes, there is topping up with senior listed (i.e. fitter than most) players, and even reports of match payments.

just a bit of a joke. A mate of mine, who was in the Ivanhoe Amateurs Team of the Century, played vets for a number of years. It was a pretty fair standard.

So you're giving me nothing Freddy? Even the new season won't make this issue go away for me :) Plus I've recently returned to playing veterans footy, I might introduce it into my pre-game routine.
Best go with 5 and work up to the 20 Boris does.
Don't want to call for the red vest before the game starts :p

Funnily enough it is true of many blokes in our team. I played a full year this year. There's a fair chunk of my team who never really played and want to give it a go as they get older. So we get the occasional pummelling. All good fun though...until someone gets hurt, which they frequently do :)

He just can't do anything normally can he? Has to do something fancy with running in a straight line. :)

As a kid I used to love it when they'd kick the ball through the banner leaving a nice hole. You don't see that too much anymore, heavy duty crepe paper I guess.

Was in the club rooms b4 the pies v cats mcg game. Enright was killing the push ups. Don't know how he does it!!
he's got monkey arms when you see him up close :D
very much like Corey, those two boys aren't the biggest but they would be remarkably strong individuals, probably why Enright very rarely gets beaten anywhere on the ground
