Poor Kinnear Beatson, struggling to cope with rival clubs making bids on elite Academy talent being funnelled onto the $ydney $wans' list. Don't these people know the unspoken rule you NEVER disadvantage the AFL Lovechild without serious rammifications from head office!?

Kinnear is proposing that any club in the AFL* who has their Academy player bidded on by another team either matches the bid, or automatically gets the next pick in the draft for free. So if the $wans hadn't taken Isaac Heeney at pick 2 they'd automatically be handed pick 3 without giving up anything. Seems fair.

Considering how much time the $wans spend every trade period trading out draft picks for points to game the matching system this would really lower Kinnear's workload, as I suppose the existence of Academies themselves mean he doesn't have to spend as much time scouting players his franchise doesn't have exclusive rights to. Oh but it has nothing at all to do with giving the $wans an unfair advantage over their rivals, its all about growing the game :drunk:

*actually just the four northern franchises who have real Academies, everyone else can GAGF

Scrap the draft and go back to zoning, the world will be a better place
Over 50% of AFL players are Victorian so this'd cripple the ability of intersate franchises to win Premierships.

Which is why I completely support it. Keep the cups in Melbourne where they belong! :winkv1::thumbsu:

Are there even any $wans posters left on the bay to troll these days?

Oh BloodRet . Right, carry on then.

The three Swines posters are having problems remembering which days they have to pretend to follow the Swines or use their other accounts to support the Great Waste of Space. The ALF needs to update their rosters so that they don't forget.

This ain’t it, chief.

Actually it is the opposite of entitlement. It allows bottom clubs who cannot develop youth, who are jealous of other clubs academy players, to bid and have a chance of it not being matched (currently the only realistic option)

Say for prime example Hawthorn. If they wanted to use their draft pick 4 for say (Port's) Lachie Jones, or Braeden Campbell (Swans) then they might have a chance of getting a properly developed young player!

But in more exciting news, with encouraging signs that a covid 19 vaccine may soon be available mid 2021, the various Hawthorn- Nearly Gooorrrn Academies located at several Aged Care and Nursing Homes in Vic may soon allow visits by Dawks list managers for player recruiting purposes! :thumbsu:

How do you know he needs to be trolled and isn't just trolling himself?

Hawthorn and Geelong probably have an element of anti-vaxxer lunatics among them.

Not Essendon though, only Zaka avoids needles among that lot.

I've heard some sh*t names in my life time. Kinnear Beatson would rate near the top.

What do the minnows think of this?
That without cash injections from AFL House your mob would've gone broke half a dozen times over the past 30 years.

Forget Nike, your franchise should be sponsored by Centerlink.

Nice tears. Tasty. Did you know that we are now sponsored by Nike? The biggest club in Australia keeps getting bigger. What do the minnows think of this?
We still think domestic violence is wrong

There is a Nike "Believe in something" meme here somewhere. But I'm struggling to come up with one at the moment.

I think it's wrong when chicks lie about it. That's never happened though luckily.

Instead we made five grand finals, and missed September like two or three times this millennium. And are sponsored by global luxuries qatar airways and now Nike. It's ok to envy us mate

It actually is designed to guarantee value to the club that holds the rights to the academy player. The club doesn't rate the academy player at that high pick, no problem, they'll take a Victorian with the next pick in the draft instead.

That's because the academy system isn't about adding local talent, it's about adding talent.
