Considering how much time the $wans spend every trade period trading out draft picks for points to game the matching system this would really lower Kinnear's workload, as I suppose the existence of Academies themselves mean he doesn't have to spend as much time scouting players his franchise doesn't have exclusive rights to. Oh but it has nothing at all to do with giving the $wans an unfair advantage over their rivals, its all about growing the game™

Say for prime example Hawthorn. If they wanted to use their draft pick 4 for say (Port's) Lachie Jones, or Braeden Campbell (Swans) then they might have a chance of getting a properly developed young player!

But in more exciting news, with encouraging signs that a covid 19 vaccine may soon be available mid 2021, the various Hawthorn- Nearly Gooorrrn Academies located at several Aged Care and Nursing Homes in Vic may soon allow visits by Dawks list managers for player recruiting purposes!
