Am liking pompie (3.5) and wigan (1.7) this week.

btw what's the reason behind the small gameweek??

UEFA cup qualifiers are on so Fulham, Everton, Tottenham are doing other things. Games are made up for soon I think

Pompey at 3.50 is horrible odds. Would want 5s before I consider them. Brum are alot better then people are giving them credit for. Wigan are too short IMO. Wolves are a good chance at getting a draw here if they play there cards right.

Best odds for midweek are Tottenham paying 2.00 to beat Hull. Hull will struggle with the pace of Keane and Defoe. Hulls strength in the midfield comes from there strength and ability to get stuck in and win the ball. No chance of doing that with Palacious and Huddlestone in the middle for Spurs. Lennon will tear Dawson probably the slowest left back around a new bumhole. Negredo wont be in time for Hull so it should be a easy win for Tottenham 2 or 3-0

Watched Man-U game and they deserved to win but wouldnt have been surprised if it was a draw, Birmingham actually played quite well in the second half.

Man City look good but dont really want to bet on them. Arsenal are overs for the title.

Wolves are missing 6 first teamers for the trip to Wigan tonight. The best value I can find is Wigan -1.0 at $3.15. Think it will be a massacre personally.

yep wigan at 1.70 is unbelievable value. they're in great form after beating the villa away and as you say wolves have a number of players out and are probabl;y the worst side on paper in the league. get on.

Dont think you'll go far wrong with backing 0-0 in the Birmingham match, and Spurs in the Hull match, but my main two bets are to lay Liverpool and United, and back Stoke and Burnley.

I've got to back Stoke @20.0. If ever a team was set up perfectly to beat Liverpool's zonal marking it's Stoke. Also having Ryan Shawcross FGS @ 40/1 , he scored first last week, and is one of the best headers of a ball I've ever seen. He should be keen to impress, having been linked with Liverpool, and although he didnt score many last season, as he didnt really play til the last third of the season, he scored about 10 from centre half in Stoke's Championship promotion season. Obviously, these probably wont come in, but at the prices you dont have to pay much to find out.

Also laying United and having a small touch on Burnley. Think one of these two will probably slip up.

Good luck.

nope no chance they'll get slaughtered. draw or away win. spurs a much better team under redknapp, and their away record actually isnt that bad since they signed palacios, he's made a big difference to them. hull are awful and will be lucky to stay up.

hull 1 spurs 2 i reckon, not betting though.

I had a good start took Spurs, Arsenal, West ham, Wigan for the wins ...Villa were no good.

Also Newcastle for the win every week for me (but I'm supporter) ...so that is 1 from 2.

Had Wigan last night and Arsenal for the draw both losers.

Tonight have taken Spurs win, Newcastle win, Porstmouth draw no bet.

Good work, we were flat-out horrible. Carrick taking a penalty speaks volumes. Ruined a good multi too with the other results so easy to pick.
why does it speak volumes? every other penalty he's taken for us has been terrific. players miss penalties, no need to make a scapegoat out of him. we were awful though weren't we.

With Rooney on 99 goals for United, trying to assert himself as "the man" to the watching masses, it just seemed the perfect moment for him to step up and say 'Ronaldo who?'.

I wasn't making a scapegoat out of Carrick per se, but Sir Alex did... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/aug/20/premier-league-burnley-manchester-united-quotes

Where's Denis Irwin when you need him hey?

haha exactly right mate, only ever remember denis missing one pen, in the treble season against villa i think it was. yeah know what you mean about rooney, but he's come out before and said he doesn't like taking them, that he's not confident taking them so he's probably not the man for the job. hargo is, if he can ever get himself fit.

6 from 7 so far for me. Not too shabby. For this weekend I think

BET OF THE WEEK
Everton to beat Burnley paying 2.20 - Dont be fooled by there fluke win over Man U. Burnley are still far and away the worst team in the division. Burnleys main weakness lies in there set piece defending. Something that Everton consider a strength. No way they can hold Cahill, Fellaini and Jo all at once. Im aware how defensively fragile Everton are atm with only one fit CB in Yobo in the squad but I think Phil Neville can shift to CB and do a job. The bet has its risks but under normal circumstances I think Everton are at 1.50. In the end I just think they will kill them upfront and probably knock in 3 or 4

Other decent bets are
Sunderland to beat Blackburn paying 2.00 - Sunderland are gonna do some decent things this year. Should whoop fodder like Blackburn. Dont see who they have with the pace in defence to contain Bent

Wigan v Man United under 2.5 goals paying 1.95 - Both teams hardly banging them in atm. Hard to score at JJB and Wigan will play with 1 upfront.
