EPL Clubs Falling Behind Elite

Looks like England should easily extend the gap over Italy now. 2 Italian clubs going out all the English clubs going through
No small thanks to us. Maintaining that coefficient for the benefit of all

i think they can make the final
Depends on the draw really. Still think they are behind Barca/Bayern/Real

PSG/City would be a good match-up, as long as City could actually be arsed to give it a go

dortmund have earned the rep of being the second best team there for years, you can't really say spurs are the second best team in england, that's as mad as saying the italian teams are about to start pwning europe.....

The EPL is actually bringing in decent coaches next season so it might not be as pathetic as its been. With Conte, klopp, Mou and even Pep in the league they could increase their level. It will be the year that Wenger is sacked as he will not be able to win the top 4 trophy once the standard goes up.

Could Lazio spoil it?
"England are currently 3.97 points ahead of Italy." Too much for Italy to catch even if Lazio win EL.

"Italy’s chances of stealing a place from England will increase next season as the 2011-12 campaign - in which Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League final - will not count in the coefficient standings."

Interesting given Leicester and Spurs will enter UCL next season. How far can we realistically be expected to go. Italy might be enjoying see us both in there next season.

Chelsea's performances in Europe over the last 5 years are really the only thing holding England up. CL win, EL win and CL SF. Who would be the next best performing English side? Arsenal? Surely not.

The top 10, although the scores do include country co-efficient.

Chelsea 135.881
Arsenal 104.881
Man City 93.881
Man United 80.881
Spurs 73.881
Liverpool 46.881
Newcastle 29.881
Everton 28.881
Stoke 22.881
Swansea/Birmingham 21.881

Worth mentioning that Italy's second best performing side is Napoli on 90.087.

Also that Italy have managed more rating points than England in only one of the last 10 years.

bump.

getting worse imo
Aresnal lost 3-1 with 11 men on the weekend, losing 5-1 with 10 men is no worse.

The result says more about arsenal being in disarray than anything else

bump.

getting worse imo

Ever since Bayern won the treble under Heynckes it's been obvious that the only true elite clubs in Europe are Barca, Real and Bayern. Clubs below them would have to be Atletico, Sevilla, Juventus, PSG and maybe Dortmund. EPL sides are a long way off from challenging for the UCL consistently.

Sevilla you say? Hmm...
