It was irrelevant when the weaker teams were beating top teams with a focus on defense and scoring on set pieces, and it remains irrelevant when a top team like Arsenal adopts the same tactics. Stats are results.
But it does support the original quote “It's more a reflection of modern football than them as a club IMO. We're now watching games for set pieces and long throws.”

Wolves have sacked their manager.
Had to do it sooner rather than later, 10 games in with no wins is horrendous and has them on track for the worst points total in EPL history.
To compare it to that Derby team of 2007/08 who got relegated on 11 points with a -69 goal difference after match day 10;
Derby: 19th position - 1W 3D 6L (6 points) and -17 goal diff.
Wolves: 20th position - 0W 2D 8L (2 points) and -15 goal diff.
Wolves are now equal 4th with 1998/99 Southampton and 2005/06 Sunderland for worst losing streak to start to an EPL season (5 defeats before Wolves got a draw at Spurs).
And while Palace 2017/18 and Portsmouth 2009/10 have the record for the worst start to a season with 7 defeats to start those years, by match day 10 in those seasons both teams had a win.
There might be some hope for Wolves in that Bolton on match day 10 were 20th with 1W 2D 7L and recovered to finish 16th but they severely underachieved with the talent in the squad.
Absolutely no luck in this first 15 mins.
