EPL Matchday 12

By not intervening its ruined things..?
Considering Liverpool have been on the end of quite a few of those saving their arse.. then are one of the only teams that actually benefit from VAR doing its job it’s no wonder they are where they are.

Jod said Salah’s goal was onside and I made a joke that it shouldn’t matter because we had an onside goal ruled out recently.
Except it wasn't onside, clearly. Move on.

One day we're going to put in a performance at Anfield.

Time to really knuckle down and go on a run. 10 games plus. Got some tough fixtures coming up so it won't be easy. Drop any further back and we'll be out of it by Christmas.

I don't think it's over but a whole lot is going to have to start going our way now.

We’re going to drop behind on games played very soon. Never know what a bit of pressure will do still.

If you think VAR is the reason that Liverpool are top of the league then you need to really re-evaluate how you look at football. You don't end up 8 points ahead of 2nd after 12 games because of VAR.

Funny game. Thought Man City were probably better in general play for the most part but Liverpool were far more clinical when they went forward, also had a functioning defense. Hard to see Liverpool not winning the league now.

Still surprised that TAA handball wasn't given a penalty. Looked clear live and on replays but who knows with that rule these days. Think the game would've been very different had it have been given.

You mean like VAR giving an onside goal offside last week and not giving the foul against Fabinho by Dr Bruyne prior to their goal? Do you also mean the blatant penalty against Mane at Sheffield and Matip vs Newcastle not given? Do you also mean VAR not giving the blatant foul from behind on Origi before Utd scored at Old Trafford?

We would be 12 from 12 if not for VAR. Laughable argument.

Looked like the ref let it go on due to the Silva handball moments prior.

If Bernardo's was a supposedly handball then surely TAAs second one should be too.

(Which they both weren't)

Different rules for the attacking and defending player. Any contact to the arm of an attacking player is an automatic free kick even if it was accidental.

It should have been a free against Bernardo then if he thought that (he would have been wrong).

You can't just call play on and ignore subsequent fouls.

Only if a goal results.

Quite impressed by Angelino. Thought Pep might have stuck Cancelo or Walker there but he had a very good game.
I was worried about him pre game but thought he did well too.

You can let play go on. Absolutely at the discretion of the referee. Good call.
You can ignore a clear foul because you think one was committed earlier in the play?

It's a huge win for us considering who we have played compared to who you guys have. We've had a far tougher fixture list yet we now sit 9 clear to you guys. It's huge for us!
