EPL Matchday 13

They're definitely punching above their weight. Maddison, Tielemans and Ndidi are quality but I can't see clubs lining up to pay big money for the rest of their squad. You would've been mad if you thought Perez and Barnes starting just about every game would get them this far at the start of the season.
Chilwell, Pereira, Soyuncu, Vardy and Schmeichel are quality too. They have a very good best 11 and a manager who if it wasnt for a slip would be a Premiership winner.

They are a good team playing well together.

Played well for no result. We’re not far off. Have matched it with the best so far this year but it’s slightly frustrating that we can’t seem to finish off and take points from the rest of the top 6.. even though we’ve probably deserved at least a point at both Anfield and the Etihad.

At the Bridge, not Anfield. Plus the Super cup.

Bit annoying we've gone toe to toe with the top 2 but lost all three games.

Soyuncu is probably in the top 5 centre backs in the premier league this season.

While we are speaking about var - there was an incident in the per-syd game where the ref didn’t see an incident (even though he did as he was looking right at it as it was a contest for the ball), play goes on for a minute with the sydney player down then the ball goes out and the sydney player gets treatment and the perth player gets a yellow card, presumably on a var recommendation (only possibility condisering no foul). Is that even allowed?

He'll figure it out eventually.
Yes what you are both saying is correct but what’s the difference anyway. Once it gets to the end of the play and a goal is scored, the linesmans decision is completely irrelevant as they forensically (but not flawlessly) analyse the footage and make a decision regardless of the onfield call.

The late after the play flags are only useful when it might decide corner vs goalkick (because of offside) where var is not consulted.

The difference is Jd is saying the linesman should be stood down.

Ah yeah that’s right, must have been thinking of City at Anfield. But yeah it’s frustrating we didn’t come away with at least a draw from the two league games, plus losing to United when they weren’t going so well. Can’t really be unhappy with how we’re going considering expectations preseason but there’s a lot of what could have beens. Gotta day though, if this is what we can produce in the first season I’m excited to see what happens 2-3 years down the track.

Might have been for something earlier as VAR cannot award a yellow.

BTW thanks for sending us Agent Marco Kurse. Best move your club ever did.

All things being equal, LeicestVAR City are the team benefitting :moustache:

There's no way he knew that was clearly offside. He guessed it was and the video was not conclusive due to it falling within the margin of error

Humans make errors. Clearly this linesman believed there was an offside offence. He waited until the play finished before flagging which was also the correct thing to do. Can't blame the lino at all in this instance.

Since when is it 'clearly offside'? He believed the player was offside and he flagged as such. Not sure what you're going on about.
