EPL Matchday 23

It's not really the point.
It happens and people need to deal with it, it's all well and good saying don't abuse people but as long as theirs a connection on the internet there will be abuse. It's like saying fix global hunger? Just feed everyone.

Well that's great but it's not reality.

If people don't like abuse you can hide comments from fandoms. It's actually just one button you press
Rightly or wrongly people see a number if benefits of engaging with people on social media.

Some of it is commercial, theres money to be made in building a profile. Some of it is personal, we're stuck in a lockdown and its one way of socialising.

You shouldnt have to deprive yourself of that because some people cant act in a half decent manner.

That's all fine, but if you're struggling with the abuse. It's an immediate effective solution.

Ending abuse on the internet ain't gonna happen this week.

Except ignoring hunger doesn't work, ignoring random abuse does.
So the police in the UK who yesterday arrested a 21yo for racist comments should instead tell those offended to simply ignore it and they’ll do nothing else about it.

What a weird stance to take. Society should be aiming to stop all abuse, not tell people to ignore it, the complete opposite to the solution.

Refreshing to finally win at home again, admittedly against a struggling and depleted Palace outfit. S

Up into the top half of the table now.(been a bit fortunate that a lot of teams that were above us have slipped up lately)

Nice to be promoted and not have to worry about being in a relegation shitfight.

Think it's time to move on from that topic... Like Roy should move on from Palace.

Spurs fans think they're a one man team... Palace haven't scored in a game where Zaha hasn't played (in the PL)

Interesting 2 topics Roy and Zaha.

Roy will probably keep you in the PL but after 8 years Palace fans want a bit more. We set up defensively and can be dour to watch if our attacking threat is not there. Plenty of Palace fans want Roy out but it would present a risk, remember Frank DeBoer?

Get the impression at times Wilf doesn't want to be there. He can appear to be out of a game but even then takes some marking and defenders' focus. Was poor v Newcastle yet we won.

Not sure where I stand in the Roy debate yet. He annoys me how we set up, he doesn't shake things up when he needs to and sometimes I shake my head with his subs. But we are PL still and it gets boring just hanging around.

Soucek's 3 match ban overturned on appeal by the FA.

Glad they made that decision, was worried they wouldn't want to admit Mike Dean was wrong 2 times in a row though.

Speaking of Dean, he asked not to referee any games in the next matchday because he's been getting death threats apparently...
Weird thing to do when there’s no crowd. He’s probably safer on the pitch.

I'd never condone death threats (which is a police matter), but perhaps the EPL and Referees body should pull the likes of Dean and Mason and move them on because they are just utterly abysmal and out of touch referees that are liability onto themselves and the decisions they are making are the root of their problems.

Don't bring them back until they get a clue or send them down to the third and fourth tier where at the moment, their standard of officiating belongs and even, those leagues probably don't deserve them.

That's good. It was an awful decision. Even Dermot Gallagher got off the fence. Ex-ref Keith Hackett said Mike Dean and Lee Mason should both step down from their roles, calling them a 'hapless double act'.

Leeds going at 1.45 ppg.

They improve slightly on that for their remaining games and they will match Wolves first season up a few seasons ago for points.

If you exclude Fernandes and Salah's 6 penalties each, Kanes 3 penalties;

Bamford is 1 goal behind Son and DCL for the most goals in the league from open play this season.

Mental.

He legit probably makes the next England squad. Harrison is up to 6 goals and 6 assists also, I daresay he makes the England squad also, as he statistically is pretty close to Harvey Barnes, Sterling and Rashford this year.

Bloody hell the new turf ain’t looking great already

Bamford said it was so slippery he put rugby studs in at half time. I saw a couple of players slip and look like they had hurt themselves - Klich and Ayling?

It was a poor game to watch due to how Palace play, made worse by having no fans and Martin Tyler commentating.
