MLS looks like a real talent however that goal celebration IMO was not the way to get back at Harland. I get it he's young but those antics tend to come back at you and bite you in the ass. I was surprised none of his more experienced teammates didn't drag him up and give him some needed advice.

been able to dodge a hammering like that fairly well this season, but basically every mistake punished and some well taken goals too. Squad simply needs a refresh.

Surprisingly little speculation about KDB signing a new deal with his contract expiring. Is he done?

Yeah it’s going to look a bit silly that Arsenal have brought all this attention to it and Haaland when however great this mornings result was, if they don’t win the league it only makes him look right.

I don’t subscribe to the “they’re just proving his point” thing. Haaland was just being patronising after the game at the Etihad, it’s not like he was trying to give genuine advice. Arsenal were within their rights to use it as fuel for this game.

Good on the kid for his celebration, it’s just a bit of fun. Haaland was a dick to him for no reason last time they met, i think he’s allowed to have a bit of fun back at his expense the next time they play. Whether they go on to win the league or not is irrelevant imo.

If you can't have fun in the moment and enjoy wins then what's the point? If everyone's perpetually saying "Oh well that might backfire at some point in the future and therefore it was dumb to enjoy in the moment" then what's the point of the sport?

I saw some Liverpool fans bemoaning how their side might look in a few years because they aren't bringing in younger players, and others telling them to enjoy the fact they're winning the title this season. If you're always looking ahead to next season or the season after and deriving anxiety from it then what's the point? You don't run the club, you don't have to worry about that stuff, just enjoy the moment.

Yeah there’s also a suggestion in here that it’s ok for Haaland to punch down because he’s won stuff, but this kid isn’t allowed to give it back to him. Not having that at all.

Maybe. I think the rivalry is based pretty much around the fact we've both been fighting for the title.

How long that lasts will depend on how long both of us can maintain that standing.
True, due to the fact that if city will drop back to pack nobody will notice or care due to there irrelevancy

Yes it would be a cesspool on twitter I imagine. From all fans. If this example I was sent is anything to go by.

yeah i had to block that guy ages ago cos they acted like every negative was like hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby

plus on the humble nonsense, Arsenal just keep proving his point
No, he shouldn't have said it in the first place.

Trying to act all tough and that like a smartass because he's on a good team.

You keep your mouth shut whether you win or lose.

Unless there is banter behind it and you want to talk some shit fair enough but when you acting all that, nah not on.

He is getting all that he deserves.

if arsenal players want to act like they've been there and done that to someone who has legit been there and done that there will be words back. thats how sport generally works.

The rivalry goes back further than that. The City fans I play football with still remember some of the clippings we gave you plus we "stole" Arteta from you who was being set to take over from Pep, and Arsenal fans remember Adebayor and Nasri etc.

Its just flared up recently because we are competing for the title again but the rivalry was always there. It may not be City V United levels or Arse v Spurs but its a solid rivalry.

And we need more of it. Makes the games more interesting.

it's weird. they carry on like they have achieved something.
about the only thing they're achieving is showing how little they give a **** about SA. the moral club who like to cry about how hard done by they are every week while picking pieces of shit in their starting line-up but yeah take a knee, wear an armband, put out nice social media posts etc... when it comes to actually making a stand it's all depending on the quality of the player I guess.

How was he being patronising? Arteta regularly carries on like an absolutely buffoon. that's not being patronising, it's telling a dickhead to stop acting like a dickhead. Unless my memory is wrong, isn't that who he was talking to? If there is anyone in the league who needs to be told to shut up it's Arteta and his endless tantrums and victim mentality.

btw Arsenal - congratulations on winning the league. it seems beating Manchester City seems to have invoked celebrations that one would associate with actually winning something. assume that's either the goal, or the assumption is that winning the league is inevitable now.

enjoy the partey as you celebrate winning the league/beating Manchester City.

That's Arsenal to a tee though.

yeah two people, bail but... he's important to the first team. What's more important? Obviously winning football matches is more important than anything else. Get behind him and cheer him, he deserves it.
