Regardless the discussion began because you were desperately looking for a reason to give KdB the player of the season award because of his number of assists. I didn't realise the award was given to the player with the most assists?

If anything I would give it to Mane because of the number of critical goals he has scored, which clearly makes him one of if not the most valuable player.

No but it enhances his reputation as it isn't a skill common to defenders which suggests that not only training to be a competent defender (arguably a bit more than merely competent) he has ALSO developed his expertise with a dead ball. He has more strings to his bow than most players. How would KdB go playing at full back? Do you reckon he'd be as good there as TAA is further up the field?

He'd be as accomplished at fullback as TAA.

The point is though that sure a lot of other defenders don't take corners. But you're punishing TAA for having world class delivery and always being over dead balls instead of you know... giving him credit.

Henderson average. Van Dijk overrated. Alexander-Arnold can't defend. Robertson not even the best Scottish LB.

It is silly to say that his corners are not relevant. The most important goal - 4th against Barca - is arguably the most important goal Liverpool have scored In the last few years and it was a corner kick.

It doesn’t make sense to dismiss corner kicks
