Brighton have to been one of the unluckiest teams I've seen to be in 16th place after 25 games.

If it happened 3-4 times sure.. but it's a regular occurrence.

Maupay the worst in Brighton and Fernandes with the most unexpected in the respective sides, although if you take as many shots as he does it does eventually add up to 1 expected goal (hence why Expected goals per shot should be more of an accurate measurement than just expected goals).

xG doesn't really take into account the quality of shot and as Brades said you could have a million shots from like the corner of the opposite end and you'd end up with an xG of 1 eventually. So lots of shots from long range/tight angles can increase xG but it's a bit deceptive.

Indeed. Even then it can be deceptive because in the case of Bruno v Maupay, he's taken a lot more shots from outside the area but obviously scored more non-penalty goals. All it takes is for a couple of lucky goals to throw it all out like the one v Everton where he tried to cross for Rashford but it went all the way in, that was 0.03 xG

Whereas in 2019-20 every team except Southampton were better home than at away. In 2018-19 every single team got more points at home than away.
