I actually thought it looked offside when they went through the VAR process. There seemed to be a gap between Carroll and the Tottenham defence.

Ludicrous stuff too. Can’t begrudge any players for trying to ping it at someone’s hand. Even if it deflects there’s a chance it’ll be given with VAR’s 0.0005% slow mo and super zoom. Not even the ref’s fault really, their hands are tied.

EFL has so many flaws and obviously the Premier League is the place to be, but I find neutral Premier League games so much more frustrating to watch compared to when I’d watch neutral Championship games, because games are just dominated by this zoomed in, lines drawn all over the pitch, reviewing incidents five minutes after the fact VAR bullshit.
