Should someone like Rob Holding be wearing an Alice Band?

Surely he's a short back and sides man.

Holding was the weak link in that Arsenal side, Saliba would have made a massive difference to their set up. But Man City are a very good team that was always going to put a run like this together. I actually thought it'd be a few more games before Arsenal got overrun (Chelsea and Toon as the next two I thought would be the trickier games) but there you go.

Chelsea isn't going to be a tricky game for them.

Since Holding has come into the side on average we now site something like 2m closer to our goal, so we sit deeper with a slower and less talented cb. It's not the only reason our run has gone badly, Arteta insistence on the same starting 11 when Partey and Saka lately have looked like they badly need a spell, but it's a massive contribution.
Hopefully in the off-season we can get an upgrade on Holding, and maybe bring in Caicedo or Rice to upgrade Partey or Xhaka. This squad isn't going to dent the league or CL without solid investment it's just to shallow a squad.

I'm aware of that now which is why I said I had expected them to struggle later than they have, but looks like things have changed since I said that.

I felt Arteta could have been bold here and put Trossard in mid instead of Xhaka for some energy and played White at CB with Kiwior out at RB. Was saying before the game if he stuck with his normal system & Holding at CB a defeat seemed inevitable.

Squad wise with an ageing midfield you need Rice + one other new mid, a better quality finisher than Jesus and a new #1 CB that bumps Gabriel to the bench. Probably looking at 200m there if that was to be all addressed in one window.

Absolutely staggered that Arteta keeps backing in the same starting 11 unless due to injury since the Pool game when Trossard has been a goal providing menace.
Hopefully the CL guarantee means we get an upgrade on the positions we need. I was hoping for White CB and Tierney inverted RB.
Sadly as talented a manager as Arteta is, he is still very green and naive at times with tactics and selections.
That said we were up against Oil Money FC who last season went out and bought one of the best strikers in the world, and next off-season probably lash another 60mil on a squaddie and we just don't have that luxury.
Have to hope other teams like Pool and Chelsea can get back up to speed to take more points off City next year to try and even out the competition before it ends up looking like the Bundesliga.

Dias gets him in the calf with his studs. I thought it was a dive too at first, but Dias definitely gets him.

I've seen players sent off for similar but a yellow was about right. Partey should have got a second yellow for his rugby tackle on Haaland.

It was always going to be tough for Arsenal to beat City at the Etihad but it comes after 3 draws whereas City have won their last 7.

Fat Frank, Gerrard, Bergkamp (role is mixed but he was phenomenal) Giggs, Scholes... And that is just the PL era.

De Bruyne is phenomenal but you have to respect the guys who came before as well.

Scholes was an overrated Thug. You got to be joking. Bergkamp and Gerrard are the only two you mentioned I could say probably are better.

The stats show De Bruyne, Lampard, Bergkamp, Gerrard have a similar goal per game record. But De Bruyne is the assist king. It puts his goal involvements per game a long way ahead of the others.

I'm glad I've already checked out for the season. Just as well we should have enough points to stay up, because we'll be lucky to get another point.

Nah Scholes was a great. Lampard is definitely in the conversation given he was a bit better than Scholes and Stevie G.
