Quit while you're behind. Your arguments are utterly pathetic.

Just own it. LFC fans think he owes them something and are salty as a result.

The "he ran his contract down" is an especially bizarre one when that's on the club, not him.

Don't think we're the ones struggling with what is actually a double standard from Liverpool supporters.

When someone claims Liverpool supporters do not support players who leave on a free transfer when this is not the case many times you are the ones struggling.

No, the issue is you don't support TAA. Don't think we're the ones that brought up James Milner.

We wanted to keep him and offered him a contract that would make him the highest paid full back in the world. What more could we do?

Not sure what point you think you're making here when I'm countering the idea that he ran his contract down and you got no money from selling him. If he didn't want the contract why didn't you sell him and make money on him? Why is that his fault? You offered the contract, he said no, you decided he was more valuable to keep around. And guess what? You won a title. Now he wants to go, which lines up with him not wanting to extend past this year. Really not sure where the sour grapes come from.

Who would have thought this year's MD36 bust-up would be opposition fans defending a Liverpool player from Liverpool supporters

Haha, I was thinking similar too. Especially when they’re supposed to be on their victory lap of comprehensively winning the title, instead this has become a big thing. I didn’t see this coming.

He gave no transfer request and pretended that he was interested in re-signing by engaging in contract negotiations. Declining being the highest paid full back in the world says he's clearly strung the club along.

If he had zero intention in re-signing, then he should have negotiated in good faith and said that 12 months ago.

His camp telling Madrid to bid an insultingly low amount mid-season to try and disrupt our title race also doesn't sit right with me. He's playing games with the club and supporters there. It's disrespectful.

Did he engage in contract negotiations? Did he give an indication he was happy to re-sign? And the club continued to put offers in front of him thinking he was going to re-sign? Or did the club put a take it or leave it offer to him with 24 months left on his deal and when he left it did they make a call on whether to sell or keep him?

Sorry but contract negotiations are entirely on the club. The fact Salah and VVD have re-signed is fortunate because otherwise the club heirarchy would be massively under fire for letting those three walk on frees. If Salah and VVD had turned down contract offers they also wouldn't be treacherous snakes btw.

And Trent has done plenty wrong. He ran down his contract, leading the fans and the club on. If he was honest with the club two years we would have negotiated his exit for 80 million. Instead he dicked us around, talking to Real Madrid the entire time so he go there on a free and get a fat signing on bonus while leaving his BELOVED club with no money to replace him.

Liverpool didn't pay a transfer fee for Trent. They paid him what he was worth and he fulfilled his contract. He helped them to two Premier League titles, a Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup. He doesn't owe them anything.

Pro footballers would know the concept of club loyalty is mostly bollocks. They would have seen dozens of their youth teammates let go each year. Or contracted players loaned out and have their contracts allowed to expire if they weren't good enough.

Well I interact and know a lot of Liverpool fans. The majority I dont think will want him back. An observation, not telling people how they should feel.
What happens to TAA if he gets a major injury now and he hasn’t signed for Real Madrid? That could be a major risk for players letting their contracts run out!

And that's a risk he's taking.. Though pretty sure he can sign a pre-contract?

Imagine how upset Liverpool supporters would have been if he could defend.

In all seriousness, much ado about nothing.

I couldn't be arsed booing (unless maybe a move to United). But to each his or her own.

The whole YNWA thing is a crock of performative shit anyway.

So the 'never' part of 'you'll never walk alone' is conditional.

Sounds more like it should be 'you'll sometimes walk alone'.

It's on the fans because Trent has done quite literally nothing wrong. Jamie Vardy is going to play in the Premier League after we've been relegated, on a free transfer. Our fans aren't kicking him for ditching us while we're down.

Do you not see how absurd that is?
Vardy is probably worse than Milner these days!

Because two years ago when we started trying to get a new deal locked up for him, he didnt say, no, im running down my contract so I can go play for Real Madrid and get a fat signing on bonus.

He just kept it open and negotiations and yeah perhaps being a local lad we probably oh ok, no dramas, we will no doubt get there eventually on a deal. Probs dawned on the club a bit late that he was just ****ing us around.

"a bit late" you could say that. Incompetence by the club.
