Will he make the world cup?

Reading a bit into what the club has put out it does seem to suggest it might be the kind of hamstring injury that could see him miss the WC sadly.

Edited

Looks like he will.

Mitoma out for the rest of the season is a big blow.

Hopefully Leeds are already on the beach.
We'll probably have Struijk, Okafor and our two starting full backs (Bogle and Gudmundsson) out. Sam Byram may have to start ..good lord.

Spurs better be above Hammers after this week

If Newcastle and Leeds want the big PL club to get relegated, they could both play their youth squad against West Ham. Nothing left for them to play for this season, which is a bad position for Spurs to be in.

I think both would still want to win as they can finish higher. Farke said we'll go out to win and sure under pressure Howe would like to as well.

Meh. It is what it is.
As clubs you rarely get relegated when you don't deserve to, so whoever it ends up being deserves it.

For fans. Meh.
Many on here support clubs that have been relegated from a wide variety of leagues and life still goes on. The suns still rises the next morning.

It is quite amazing Liverpool’s fall this season considering how much they spent in the summer.

In a way doesn't that explain it? They've brought in a chunk of new players, some of whom have worked some haven't. It always felt like an awkward middle ground season with attacking talent brought in to replace Salah's output before he left. Then throw in the Jota issue and I'm not sure it's that bad a season from them. See how they start next season and make a call if need be.

It’s 100% a bad season and Pool fans will say that. The sad news around Jota would rock any club, I agree, that was shocking.

Their signings might come good for next season, but to be outright champions last season, spend half a billion and look to finish 5th or 6th around 60pts is a big fall off. Wonder what the odds would’ve been for United who finished 15th last season to finish above Pool this year.

The football schedule is unrelenting, and the workload on players is just getting more and more. There’s little to no room for grieving of the loss of a colleague and friend. Almost any other industry and employees could utilise bereavement leave. However there’s not really that option in the workplace for Liverpool with Jota.

As poor as their league title defence has been, it’s almost impossible to measure the impact of Jota’s passing. It’s an intangible.

Absolutely.

In 2014 I was lucky enough to be part of a premiership side. One of my team mates was killed in a car accident in the off season and we went winless in the season that followed. At the time it really was the most devastating thing I'd ever experienced, and it gutted the football club at all levels from seniors down to the juniors.
