Not really.

Then wtf are his wages based on if not performance and results?

His wages will go to $0 if he's doing a garbage job.
I think some have lost sight of the purpose of football clubs.

Pep is judged on how the team performs, not what he takes home at the end of the month.

Can't see Burnley back in the Prem for awhile.

Much to RossFC disappointment.

Imagine if they spent what Brighton did in the offseason....

They bought Willock in the offseason, that was it.

We sold Ben White and brought in Cucurella and Mwepu for 10 million less than we got for White. That's it for the senior team.

So what were you saying?

It wasn't that they improved, they went at 2 points per game after the purchases which would get you a CL spot across an entire season. It wasn't exactly a small sample size either.

And none of the shitload of money spent on players played any part in that or course. None at all.

I know you like to intimate Brighton are the best run club in the universe, but you might show a little humility at stages.

No need to show anything but disdain for anything and everything associated with these s**t stain clubs and their campaigner owners.

Were not the best at anything.

Simply have more respect for the likes of Norwich than some Saudi turds play thing. Which deserve zero repsect.

Brighton had one of the highest net spends in Europe for a few years and it resulted in the grand total of 15th-17th.

No we didn't. Certainly not on players. Not when you include wages in those figures.

It has been a difficult 5 years keeping up with Everton's big spending spree. I do agree with you on that front.
Last 5 seasons on transfers we've spent 20million more. Wage wise (not including staff), you've spent 160million more. You did more than keep up.

It would be a herculean effort if they managed to bounce back next season. They'll lose all of Pope, Tarkowski, Cornet, possibly McNeil (despite having a pretty poor season) and Brownhill, and their dire financial situation will make it difficult to buy adequate replacements. They seem to be in a somewhat similar situation to Huddersfield when they got relegated where they paid much of their parachute payments on debt they needed paying off. Luckily for them, they kept afloat despite threatening relegation and are now one win away from promotion. Burnley don't seem to be the most loved club around here, but I hope they can manage to stabilise things like Huddersfield and not go on a spiral down the pyramid.
