We needed to fix our attack as much as our defence, maybe you didn't watch us much as that was pretty obvious to see last season. We desperately needed an experienced CB and we got a very good one in Silva, yeah he's old and a stop gap but he's quality still.

No. You replaced academy players you jizzed over last season.
If they were good enough they wouldn't need to be replaced in the starting XI.

Yet they are still starting and coming off the bench. There'll be plenty of games for everyone. Mount and James will play a s**t load of games for us.

Was just weird as we signed the left back Frank had been chasing for 12 months, a CB who just played in the UCL final and a goalkeeper who had been picked out by someone who may know a little about goalkeeping...Petr Cech. Yet you seem to think we didnt try and strengthen that area.

It is now VVD is out for the season. Before that I was still backing us in to win the league pretty comfortably.

Probably wasnt a consideration at all. He was shoved into another Everton player after passing the ball and there was little contact. Milner was ready to come on, there was communication by the physio that he might have to come off. If the ball was in play it might have been a foul and possibly a yellow.

Comparing it to the Richarlison/Pickford challenges is simply laughable.

Just because you get a shove doesn't mean you can lunge studs up into the nearest opponent. I agree, if the ball was near it would have been a foul and a yellow card - like the Luke Shaw 'tackle' on Lucas Moura. But the ball was nowhere near. Was a red card offence just like the Richarlison and Pickford challenges.

Yeah it's easy for me. VAR to be used for penalties, blatant offsides that get missed and red card offences. Millimetre offsides shouldnt even be looked at.

The problem is then, where do you draw the line? You make it subjective, whoever is driving the VAR then gets to decide whats offside and what isn't.

Got to laugh at those calling for a red for Pickford, that's not how it works.

That's fair comment. My issue is that it's not clear to us fans on how VAR is making the very close calls. You get a bunch of lines drawn on a still shot and it's not clear if the player is offside. The ref gets the decision and even the commentators are none the wiser.

It's meant to be objective but it appears subjective. Is there other evidence that we are not being shown?

My first reaction when watching the Ageuro incident is to wonder just what the hell was he doing? Completely unnecessary. Extremely fortunate to come away from that without any consequences, just a very poor look overall.

all EPL team defenses seem to be shambolic this season....The lack of crowds seems to have taken the nervy edge off strikers, who are finishing like they do in training drills.

Have another look. 53 minutes in. Jim Beglin - 'as he went down he's had a go at Allan'. The ball was nowhere near. That's a red.
