Nah, not going to pull the trigger

Fine choice! (I did 😔).

Still, Van Hecke, Rice and (eventually) Saka all doing their thing.
Can afford to only pay 4 defenders now Rice went nuts. If Keane's gtg I'll probably bench VVD.

Brighton clean sheet is great as ive got Verbruggen. Looks like my SC Cup opponent has Rice on the bench. I feel i have the upper hand in the matchup unless they trade in a donut and take Rice's score which would even it up or potentially swing it slightly in their favour

All out for a measly 69 which dropped me 140 places to 617th overall.

The less said about that round the better, just two double figure scores, Rice and Saka, the rest of my scores were 5 and under.

Talked up Keane who's provided exactly zero points in 2 games...

Collins and Van Hecke combining for 42 did help ease the pain somewhat.

Would love Bruno to play on Thursday, otherwise it'll cost me an extra trade to take a ((likely) one week punt on a Mid.
(Pretty sure I'm set on ignoring F3).

Bruno potentially back vs Burnley.

Mainoo could be an option to make some money soon, should get a run in the team now that the formation will change.

Is money/BE really an objective at this point in the game? I have a team value of 137m with 15m in the bank, ranked top 400. Struggling to spend it and now struggling to move further up the rankings, spending it wouldn’t have helped.

Hanging out for Bruno, Munoz and Mbeumo to return but other than that it’s try and find the guy who will have the best run of 5 games and jump on him. Difficult mindset switch from the AFL version which is look for set and forget.

Gabriel can't keep scoring actual goals though, can he. Can he?

Interesting time to sack a(nother) manager. Looked like we'd get some minutes at least from Bruno. I'm about 800k away from trading him back in, so I selfishly do want him to have well, even a 'normal' game on his return.

So, it'll be a Grealish, Janelt (looking like a genuinely good option anyway atm), Reijnders, Gibbs-White kinda week and hope for the best.
Picking a decent captain this round seems tough! I think I’ll have to back Haaland in but Brighton rarely concede 2+ goals

Last time I ignored Haaland it cost me the best part of 30 points...

...but seriously considering Foden (who's just about due again) into Saka after his rest. :straining:

(I do love rolling lock-outs!)

Edit: You wouldn’t think Gabriel would keep scoring goals but should score well regardless. Since I don’t have Raya I am happy to double up with timber and Gabriel

I don’t think I have any loops available to me for captaincy. I think I’ll have to go Haaland as straight C.

Just to expand on DZ4 's point, will Gabriel keep scoring well?
(Sorry everyone, I already know this is going to sound much more w@nky than intended! 😳)
He's never averaged 9 in this format. (Despite being constantly highly ranked). He's currently av'ing 13.1.

As I was getting at earlier in the season, no matter how good teams are defensively, only 3 teams (I think!) have ever had more than 20 clean sheets (roughly half of course) in a season.

Gabriel has scored 6, 4, 5, 1 (injured) in the only 4! games that he hasn't either had a shut out or been involved in scoring!
That's pretty amazing, but surely unsustainable.

In this format specifically where you only need to play 2 defenders, I agree that more ground can be made up by targeting "unfashionable", [usually] cheaper guys for favourable runs of games.

Guys like Truffert and Senesi are examples of players who I look at each year. BM are solid defensively at home, but awful on the road. As such, these guys will average ~10 ppg at home...
...rotating then with similar players [there's always good analysis of 'rotating' defensive teams heading into EPL seasons] will often give a better result than playing the guns week in and out.

Anyway, that's not to talk you out of anything! But that's the reason that I've been talking up players that most people don't even look at recently.

Dias out for 4-6 weeks, another trade sigh.

Might wait a week and get a cheap Crystal Place defender. Need to build a bit of cash up to get Fernandes back.

Trying to decide who to trade Semenyo to out of Saka or Thiago. Was going to get Thiago last week and got busy and didn't do the trade. Saka would be my fourth Arsenal player (Raya, Gabriel, Rice) is that too many?

I think 4 is okay. I wouldn’t go with any more than 4 though
