Arshavin knocked back Anzhi. Basically called them the Millwall of Russia.
Swansea haven't conceded at home because they have had some stellar performances from Caulker and Vorm.
He has been nice set piece fodder but as far as his movement in and around the midfield goes he has slothed around like a three legged turtle. A very big reason why you get overrun in almost every second half you play atm is because Adam output drops off and the opposition midfield is able to see alot more of the ball with less pressure put on them. He is a good player still but the role he was signed to perform he simply cannot do im afraid. Doesnt have the pace at this level to do it. Needs to either play behind the striker or as LW drifting in and combining with Enrique. ATM you sold Meireles and never replaced him in my eyes.
8 goals is a pretty poor effort especially when you take into account how much your midfield dominates possession with 5 men in there. Defenses that have performed better to date are
Newcastle
Man United
Man City
Stoke
Villa
QPR
Everton
Sunderland
Norwich
Fulham
and tied with Wolves, Chelsea and West Brom. Lord forgive me for not bowing down to there greatness. You spent 50 mill + and a player who rejected QPR and Celtic to sign for you on a free transfer is the second pick. How is that a good thing?
Severely doubt your going to put Gerrard next to Lucas ever again in that deep midfield role. Maybe Henderson can drift over from the right to take up that position but essentially replacing a guy who is unfit and cant defend, with a guy that is unfit and cant defend named Steven Gerrard isnt going to solve the current problem of getting overrun in the second half of football matches. Id say Spearing is the most likely of all options to take over for Adam if need be.
1 clean sheet in 8 games has to be worrying. You cant pick and choose which performances to include and not. It was your defenses fault you were reduced to 9 men. They were the ones who put in the insipid performance not the front line.
Bellamy signing isnt a success because he chose you and not the other way around. Doesnt say much about your scouting team when they spend 50+ mill and the second best signing they pull off is one they personally had no control over. Bellamy took less wages etc to join Liverpool and while that is great and all it doesnt say much about your sides ability to sign talent. Something thats been a problem for a few years now. How Commolli still has a job is beyond most people I think
This is a game made for local lad Spearing... let him just run, hassle, throw himself around.
If Henderson starts in the derby, I'm gonna be very worried
Spearing is shit you may aswell call poulson back. Kuyt should start in hendersons place hopefully..
That was pre Eto and I think a comment born out of ignorance of the situation . The idea a guy like Arshavin who complains about his wage week in week out at Arsenal is going to turn down the type of money im sure they will throw at him once his contract expires is hard for me to believe personally. Anzhi would make him the highest paid player in the world to get him to the club. He will sell out. He wont be left with much choice in my eyes.
it's funny all these liverpool fans saying 'no way suarez is awesome he luvs livapool' are the same ways who would've said exactly the same thing about torres.
bookmark if you want - when your club under its prehistoric football philosophy carrying manager fail to reach the CL this season - suarez will want out - the only way it won't happen is if he has a really, really poor season himself.
oh and btw - I can admit it. I was wrong once. it was heads.

In all honesty I think you should be butthumping a team like Everton atm. No real physical presence upfront, a slow CM pairing which Lucas should take care off and your best attacking threats (Enrique and Downing) going manno e manno with a slow Tony Hibbert. Comfortable 2-0 victory for mine
or in the real world - when players become good, and actual, current big clubs want them - the players want to leave. the recent examples are countless so why would I bother.Of all the rubbish you spout this is probably the silliest comment of all. Liverpool have never sold any player when they were at their best, we have always gotten the best out of them and then moved them on. It happened with Owen, and history repeated it with Torres. We weren't prepared to sell Torres for the initial 25 million that Chelsea offered (and that's all he was worth) but when a club offer us 50 million for a 27 year old striker who is injury prone and clearly past his best then you are stupid not to sell. And it has proven a masterstroke, with Torres scoring 3 goals in 23 games, missing goals that my 87 year old grandfather would score and getting sent off out of frustration for the first time ever in his career. I just wish it was United who we ripped off rather then Chelsea.
Suarez is going nowhere next season. And for us to even consider it, the offer will have to be astronomical, which won't happen with FFP gradually getting phased in. Once he has played 3 or 4 seasons with us and gets a severe injury we'll probably offload him to Chelsea for ridiculous money again and buy someone better. It's just how football is these days.

when you become a worthy club again (obviously not under the current management) that might change and you might be able to hold onto your heroes like Torres and be spared the tears when they get ambition and ask to move somewhere bigger. Until then mate, get used to it. Happens to Villa as well. And teams like Sunderland. Accept your present company mate.
not a hero? the tears dropped in the weeks following still have half of liverpool flooded.Except that Torres wasn't a hero, he was a broken, former shadow of his self. There's absolutely no way Liverpool would have sold Torres in 08/09 when he was at his peak, regardless of how we finished in the league. Players leave Liverpool when we are done with them mate, that's how it has been and how it will always be. Get used to it.
