What about Suarez and spurs? They need class strikers and Suarez and Adebyor are just that.

*if we wanted out

Spurs couldnt afford him. They will continue trying to sign Leanardo Damiao I think. A cheaper albeit similar style player.

Arshavin is a golden god in Russia. On name value alone he would be a bigger capture then Suarez is. Got a feeling Arshavin would be the player to play behind Eto at the end of the day.

Norwich are dominating because like the first 3 months of Blackpool every game of football they play is on there terms. Managers are too stubborn and stupid to alter tactics and formation against recently promoted teams. They really take a ignorant and lazy attitude to facing promoted teams sometimes. That is why none of the promotion teams are in the bottom 3. That is why Swansea are yet to concede at home and that is why Norwich play such a entertaining style of football atm exposing there great strength and that is there wide play. In the centre of the park they are woeful but with Pilkington and Bennett they have some very trickey customers who allow Norwich a great avenue forward.

Arshavin knocked back Anzhi. Basically called them the Millwall of Russia.

That was pre Eto and I think a comment born out of ignorance of the situation . The idea a guy like Arshavin who complains about his wage week in week out at Arsenal is going to turn down the type of money im sure they will throw at him once his contract expires is hard for me to believe personally. Anzhi would make him the highest paid player in the world to get him to the club. He will sell out. He wont be left with much choice in my eyes.

Gyan was in the same boat with Al Ain. How the **** can he turn down 200k+ a week (a large portion which he is donating to charity)? Its just not humanely possible.

Swansea haven't conceded at home because they have had some stellar performances from Caulker and Vorm.

They have played well dont get me wrong but the long aimless balls teams send in play to there strengths somewhat. Caulker, Williams will win alot of aerial battles. That is what they are making a career out of. If teams played smart brought it to the ground and stopped with the long ball "quickly lets score now" garbage im sure they would be a easier nut to crack

He has been nice set piece fodder but as far as his movement in and around the midfield goes he has slothed around like a three legged turtle. A very big reason why you get overrun in almost every second half you play atm is because Adam output drops off and the opposition midfield is able to see alot more of the ball with less pressure put on them. He is a good player still but the role he was signed to perform he simply cannot do im afraid. Doesnt have the pace at this level to do it. Needs to either play behind the striker or as LW drifting in and combining with Enrique. ATM you sold Meireles and never replaced him in my eyes.

8 goals is a pretty poor effort especially when you take into account how much your midfield dominates possession with 5 men in there. Defenses that have performed better to date are

Newcastle
Man United
Man City
Stoke
Villa
QPR
Everton
Sunderland
Norwich
Fulham

and tied with Wolves, Chelsea and West Brom. Lord forgive me for not bowing down to there greatness. You spent 50 mill + and a player who rejected QPR and Celtic to sign for you on a free transfer is the second pick. How is that a good thing?

I agree that Adam's fitness means he usually has poorer second halfs but with Gerrard coming back, Adam may even find himself on the bench. As for our defence, if you take the 3 goals out we conceded after going down to 9 men at WHL, we have conceded just 5 goals. Which would leave us level with Utd, City and Villa with only Newcastle better off.

Im not worried about our defence at all.

I dont get how signing Bellamy and him being a success is a bad thing. Just makes no sense whatsoever. He is a transfer coup is what it is.

Severely doubt your going to put Gerrard next to Lucas ever again in that deep midfield role. Maybe Henderson can drift over from the right to take up that position but essentially replacing a guy who is unfit and cant defend, with a guy that is unfit and cant defend named Steven Gerrard isnt going to solve the current problem of getting overrun in the second half of football matches. Id say Spearing is the most likely of all options to take over for Adam if need be.

1 clean sheet in 8 games has to be worrying. You cant pick and choose which performances to include and not. It was your defenses fault you were reduced to 9 men. They were the ones who put in the insipid performance not the front line.

Bellamy signing isnt a success because he chose you and not the other way around. Doesnt say much about your scouting team when they spend 50+ mill and the second best signing they pull off is one they personally had no control over. Bellamy took less wages etc to join Liverpool and while that is great and all it doesnt say much about your sides ability to sign talent. Something thats been a problem for a few years now. How Commolli still has a job is beyond most people I think

I think we'll play a 5 man midfield... Kuyt Adam Lucas Downing with Gerrard just in front and off Suarez. Should work. As for our defence, im not nearly as worried as you are. Weve had our first two choice RB's out for most the season, Enrique was a great buy and Agger's fitness is a worry. I think were still short a really good CB but I think the defence is still good enough to keep clean sheets and win us games.

Bellamy's signing is a very astute one. I think he will prove very useful throughout the season. You can try put a bad spin on it but I just dont see how you can? What you are actually waffling on about is a whole lot of absolute crap.

Spearing is shit you may aswell call poulson back. Kuyt should start in hendersons place hopefully..

You serious? Spearing has been 1000 times better than Poulson on the basis of last season. I'd prefer my 10 year old dog on the team sheet than Poulson, at least my dog can move

Zenit also wanted him back so maybe he is more keen on returning to them when his contract is up?

it's funny all these liverpool fans saying 'no way suarez is awesome he luvs livapool' are the same ways who would've said exactly the same thing about torres.

bookmark if you want - when your club under its prehistoric football philosophy carrying manager fail to reach the CL this season - suarez will want out - the only way it won't happen is if he has a really, really poor season himself.

oh and btw - I can admit it. I was wrong once. it was heads.

Of all the rubbish you spout this is probably the silliest comment of all. Liverpool have never sold any player when they were at their best, we have always gotten the best out of them and then moved them on. It happened with Owen, and history repeated it with Torres. We weren't prepared to sell Torres for the initial 25 million that Chelsea offered (and that's all he was worth) but when a club offer us 50 million for a 27 year old striker who is injury prone and clearly past his best then you are stupid not to sell. And it has proven a masterstroke, with Torres scoring 3 goals in 23 games, missing goals that my 87 year old grandfather would score and getting sent off out of frustration for the first time ever in his career. I just wish it was United who we ripped off rather then Chelsea.

Suarez is going nowhere next season. And for us to even consider it, the offer will have to be astronomical, which won't happen with FFP gradually getting phased in. Once he has played 3 or 4 seasons with us and gets a severe injury we'll probably offload him to Chelsea for ridiculous money again and buy someone better. It's just how football is these days.

This is a game made for local lad Spearing... let him just run, hassle, throw himself around.

If Henderson starts in the derby, I'm gonna be very worried

In all honesty I think you should be butthumping a team like Everton atm. No real physical presence upfront, a slow CM pairing which Lucas should take care off and your best attacking threats (Enrique and Downing) going manno e manno with a slow Tony Hibbert. Comfortable 2-0 victory for mine

The bitters will be up for this derby big time. They may get a draw out of it, can't see them winning though. Is Cahill fit?

or in the real world - when players become good, and actual, current big clubs want them - the players want to leave. the recent examples are countless so why would I bother.
when you become a worthy club again (obviously not under the current management) that might change and you might be able to hold onto your heroes like Torres and be spared the tears when they get ambition and ask to move somewhere bigger. Until then mate, get used to it. Happens to Villa as well. And teams like Sunderland. Accept your present company mate.

Except that Torres wasn't a hero, he was a broken, former shadow of his self. There's absolutely no way Liverpool would have sold Torres in 08/09 when he was at his peak, regardless of how we finished in the league. Players leave Liverpool when we are done with them mate, that's how it has been and how it will always be. Get used to it.
