Its not a bad win, but all I am saying is is a step forward, nothing to ride home about.

Just look at the Melbourne Essendon match.

If Essendon wins , ho hum, whatever, the Dees got up, makes it a little bit interesting and their supporters are a little wwarm and excited with a boost even if just for a moment it brings a smile on their faces. Just show what a waste of a season, mid range Essendon is having with all the circus going on etc..

MFC is more up and about than the Dogs cause they come from a bigger sh... hole and their task perhaps a little more difficult

There is a difference between rebuilding and where we are. I'd say the only teams currently rebuilding are the Dees, Giants, Lions and Saints. The Dogs to a lesser extent. We're meant to be at the same development level as the Roos, Pies, Bombers and Blues.

If we're rebuilding, how does Newman walk straight into the side? How does 30 year old Aaron Edwards get a game?

Why are you so angry? In the end, none of us can really say anything here to affect the result.

I'm not saying we will be OK. I'm not saying there aren't serious decisions that need to be made, or that the ship will just right itself. What I have been saying is that there is no need to sack the entire board and coaching staff, trade Lids and Cotch for picks, and implement a new 10 year plan. The problem is bad, really ****ing bad, but nothing is that bad.

I don't think we need a rebuild other than delisting the old blokes and spuds at seasons end and going deep into the draft and getting Tyson Goldsack through free agency I just think we need a coach that can consistently get the best out of our players .
As for the lack of leadership debate well I think that is a cop out because last year

Deledio Jackson Cotchin
Maric , Newman and Jack were fine leaders when we were winning and then we sent Conca , Dea and a few others to Brazil to ad to this group.
It's a cop out because we are playing crap footy but unfortunately that's gonna happen if you go into games a man down after every bounce and players are played out if position and the game plan has been changed to slow a game down that every other team is speeding up.
Your exactly right about how can we be rebuilding if Newy and Azza are getting games , fact is there is an easy 8 leaving at years end and they'll be replaced by some really good kids but we have to have the right people their to guide them. Not someone that will only debut first round draft picks and let the rest rot in the VFL for 3 years until you blame them because you have no match day coaching skills .

Next week Giants have Carlton at home and St Kilda have West Coast at home.

I don't really expect those teams to win, but gee, they are half a chance if things go right.

If Saints can get someone to hold down Kennedy and Giants play their most inspired game against a blue outfit that would have built themselves up for the Hawks then only Brissy will be holding us up.

What do you mean?


Are you saying they shouldn't play because we are rebuilding and play the kids?

Or are you saying we are so weak we get a bit of assistance when needed from more experienced players to help us like Shaw and Hunt at GWS so they are playing because we are rebuilding?

BTW we are not on the same development level as CFC. CFC are a mature team, they are about to start their rebuild. Essendon, North are 2 years or so ahead of us and the Pies also have a more developed list

I am saying we are doing neither. We have no plan, no direction. We are playing and picking teams each week as if it was 2013 and we are in the hunt for a top 8 or even top 4 team. As it is though, we're not. So why play these guys when, long term, there is no benefit?

I'm not sure how Collingwood have a more developed list.
  • Riewoldt and Cloke are at about the same development
  • Rance and Chaplin have played alot more footy then Frost, Keefe & Reid
  • Newman & Maxwell have both been around for along time
  • Deledio is a year older then Pendlebury
  • Foley & Swan are the same age
  • Cotchin is older then both Beams & Sidebottom
  • There wouldn't be that much difference between Houli & Lumumba
  • Maric, Vickery & Hampson are far more developed then Grundy, White and Witts
  • Conca, Ellis, Vlastuin have played more footy Dwyer, Williams, Thomas, Langdon, Adams, Elliot, etc

I'd say, they are pretty even, wouldn't you?

That's such a Richmond defeatist attitude. Why can we stat worrying if we lose to Brisbane & the Saints, but not the Dogs and Dees?

These are all teams that we were expected to, and should have beaten this year considering where the development of our list is at.

Pendlebury done more than Lids
Chaplin, don't rate, Frost , Keefe and Reid talented as a group of 3, and more than just Rance.

Swan is a mile ahead of Foley in terms of footy development and impact on age, forget same age.

Cotch on par with Beams, so Sidebottom bonus for Pies.

Lumumba better than Houli
Grundy , White and Witts as a group better than MAric , Vickery and Hampson,. Vickery and Hampson wouldn't get a gig at Pies.

Lngdon and Vlas similar level, Ellis and Elliot similar and Conca gives us an edge but Pies have bigger development edges in other areas.

I see a plan. PLan is around development because we are not in the hunt in 2014 with the Swans and Port around like most other clubs.

Because St Kilda and Brisbane are about 40 points at least worst than any other team in the comp.

Brisbane and Saints should not have even won a match the list match ups are that bad except Saints should have beat Brisbane in Auckland.


The bottom group has been manipulated . Brisbane and Saints are clearly the worst 2 teams on paper by a mile!

That's my point though. You're saying Swan is better the Foley, Pendles better then Lids, their rucks better then our rucks etc, even though they are the same age, if not younger/less experienced then our guys.

There is something seriously wrong with that.

They are better players, different players.

Sometimes it is not just about them , you have to look at other things like recruitment etc..
