Thank God that ball bounced up into his hands at the end for the winning goal because he traditionally fumbles if he has to pick it up off the deck.
His long shot on goal was great, he is actually quite a good long kick, but he's still a diabolical short kick. Unfortunately I'm sure he's under instructions not to kick unless he has no other option which only makes him hesitant and that no doubt contributes to his poor short kicking, which requires finesse that long kicking doesn't. A good example was in the 2nd quarter when received the kick in, had about 30 metres clear ahead of him did not know what to do (no doubt thinking to himself, "I've got to get rid it, I've got to get rid of it, I'm not supposed to be the guy who kicks out of defence") and ended up running too far and then giving a dodgy handpass to a guy under pressure. They need to back him in because he can kick the ball and he'll only improve if he's given more licence to be proactive.
